Trying to overcome uploading a ppt with timed audio throughout .... when uploaded the audio re-starts at every new slide.
Received advice to use desktop.

I've downloaded the Authorstream desktop but when I open it I just get my usual microsoft ppt ....
Im pretty clueless about the techno jargon...add-ins, ribbons etc but I have been googling and trying!!!!

According to this web page http://blog.authorstream.com/2012/03/powerpoint-to-video-engine-gets-better.html (in the chart at the bottom)
it should work with Microsoft 2002 .... (pls dont laugh too loud !!!)

any ideas please ????

authorSTREAM currently supports embedded audio and linked audio (WAV and MP3 format only). For linked audio you need to use authorSTREAM desktop http://www.authorstream.com/desktop/ add-in. authorSTREAM desktop PowerPoint add-in is supported with Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 and 2010 version only.

We analyzed your presentation and found you are using linked .MP3 audio in your PowerPoint file. Linked audio is supported using authorSTREAM Desktop only. If you are using PowerPoint Version 2002, we can suggest you to try embedding your audio file in PowerPoint. By default only .WAV audio files can be embedded in PowerPoint. So in this case please follow the steps below to convert and add audio in your presentation:-

1. Convert your audio into WAV format ( you can use this free audio converter http://www.formatoz.com/ or any other audio converter to convert you audio into wav format)
2. Open the PowerPoint file and follow the steps mentioned below-
> In Menu Options go to Tools and open “Options”.
> Open General Tab and Increase value to 50000 KB (50MB).
3. Insert converted (WAV) media file into your PowerPoint presentation
4. Upload the PowerPoint file directly to authorSTREAM. Read more on how to upload- http://www.authorstream.com/help/66-upload-powerpoint-file-authorstream/

If the size of the media file (WAV) is more than 50 MB, that would be linked. Linked media will appear in the authorSTREAM output using authorSTREAM Desktop only.

To play music throughout the slides in a presentation, follow these steps:

1. Click the slide where you want the music to start.
2. On the Insert menu, point to Movies and Sounds, and then click Sound from File.
3. Click the sound file that you want to use, and then click OK.
4. In the dialog box that appears, click Yes to play the sound automatically.
5. Right-click the sound that now appears on your slide, and then click Custom Animation.
6. In the Custom Animation task pane, right-click the media file on the list, click Effect Options, and then click the Effect tab.
7. Under Stop playing, specify the options that you want, and then click OK.
8. Close the Custom Animation task pane.
9. Right-click the sound, and then click Edit Sound Object.
10.Click to select the Loop until stopped check box, and then click OK.
11. Run the slideshow to verify the audio and then Upload your presentation on authorSTREAM (the embed audio WAV format will play fine in output).
