After converting a ppt to video. How do I download that video to make edits on my local pc? clicking download opens the video in a browser running quick time but doesn't allow me to save the file locally.

Your browser must have a file association set to play video files whenever any video link is opened in browser. To avoid this please remove association with browser or follow the steps below :
1) Go to Your Stuff page: http://www.authorstream.com/MyUploaded-Presentations/All OR presentation page. 2) Right Click on the video icon and click ‘Save Target as’ or ‘Save Link as’ (depends upon the browser you are using)

If you are downloading using IE, PowerPoint file may saved as Zip file on your system. Please don’t unzip it simply change its file extension to ppt / pptx.
Alternatively you can try downloading from different browsers.
