Today’s modern high-performance naval air-craft make extreme demands on emergency escape devices. The most critical time for ejection from aircraft is at low altitudes, especially on takeoffs and landings. The ultimate in seat reliability y is one that safely ejects the occupant at zero airspeed and zero altitude or at low altitudes under high sink rate and/or adverse attitude conditions. Today there are a number of different seats in the inventory of naval aircraft. Each of these seats is produced in various models to fit the escape requirements of many aircraft. As aircraft evolve, new needs and criteria dictate changes to seat systems. It is important to have an ejection system in order to maintain the safety of the pilot. The purpose of ejection seat is simple to lift the pilot straight out of the aircraft to a safe distance, then deploy parachute to allow the pilot to land safely. Since 1940’s different types of ejection seats were developed. The ROCKET CATAPULT was developed during the year 1965-75 and belongs to second generation type of ejection seats. This report includes the advanced techniques that are used in the manufacturing of ejection seats and the future technologies.
