Slide 1:

Malaysian Indians and Their Education.

Slide 2:

The words 'cultivate' and 'civilize' are almost synonymous to the word 'educate'. Education is important as it teaches us the right behaviour, the good manners thus making us civilized. It teaches us how to lead our lives. Education is the basis of culture and civilization. It is instrumental in the development of our values and virtues. Education cultivates us into mature individuals, individuals capable of planning for our futures and taking the right decisions. Education arms us with an insight to look at our lives and learn from every experience. The future of a nation is safe in the hands of educated individuals. Education is important for the economic growth of a nation. It fosters principles of equality and socialism. Education forms a support system for talents to excel in life. It is the backbone of society. Why Education?

Slide 3:

Why Malaysian Indians has failed to master the education?? Why the Tamil schools are in terrible condition? Poverty? Lack of support from government? Because of their own mentality?

Thaneermalai Murugan Temple, Penang 1 pillar = RM 5 000 Total= RM 27mil

Why temples are in good condition? :

Atleast once a week your family donate rm 3 ~ 5 to temple. Lets say 1000 families in a week, rm 3k ~ 5k per week temple gain. Good business. This is why there is illegal temples were built too. During thaipusam ONLY, archanai rm 10 x 100,000 devotees = RM 1 million. How bout other poojas and other events for the entire year? Why temples are in good condition?

Malaysias Thaipusam Celebrations may draw a record crowd :

Kuala Lumpur, Feb. 3 (ANI): The Thaipusam celebration at the Batu Caves temple of Malaysia may draw a record 1.3 million devotees and visitors. This year the devotees may outnumber last years one million visitors, who attended the Thaipusam celebration. The Batu Caves temple committee is making all arrangements to cater to the expected massive crowd, The Star online reports. The committee spent whopping 640,000 Ringgits to improve basic amenities like public toilets and water supply. continue…. Malaysias Thaipusam Celebrations may draw a record crowd

Slide 21:

A new introduction to the celebrations this year would be a magnificent fireworks display on the eve of Thaipusam. But poor harvests of the coconut in Penang will be a concern for those who were wishing to break coconuts for Thaipusam. The price of the Mawar B grade coconut, suitable for devotees to smash as an act of fulfilling vows, has increased by 50%. The price of the coconuts during the Thaipusam is likely to be 1.70 Ringgits to 1.80 Ringgits against last years 1 Ringgit per coconut. (ANI)

What we should do? :

Stop donate to temples. Start donate to Tamil schools. Follow as what Chinese people do. See their schools. Do you think government build their school? Some might think government wont help if we contribute for the schools, but do you still wanna keep waiting? Choose one school at your place, start to improve it. Donate money, materials or get others (family, relatives and friends) to do it. What we should do?

Worry temple will be in worst condition if we concentrate on schools only? :

If schools condition and education level improve, level of living in our community will increase too. Better temple can be develop. Improve in economics. No need to depends on government 100%. Worry temple will be in worst condition if we concentrate on schools only?

Slide 24:

The greatest revolution of our generation is the discovery that human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives ~William James The universe is change; our life is what our thoughts make it.
