Myths About Criminology: Our program is a law enforcement academy. This program will enhance an application for the law enforcement academy, however this is a degree program rooted in theory, research, and critical thinking. Incorrect Our program prepares you for careers in criminal profiling, forensic psychology, or forensics . Incorrect Careers in these fields require advanced degrees and professional training well beyond the undergraduate level.

Major Requirements 36 Major Hours (30 hrs of which must be completed at USF) Including: 12 hrs Core CCJ 3024 Survey of Criminal Justice System CCJ 3117 Theories of Criminal Behavior CCJ 3701 Research Methods CCJ 4934 Senior Seminar 24 hrs of Criminology Electives – Choose 8 of the following : CCJ 3014 Crime and Justice in America CCJ 3621 Patterns of Criminal Behavior CCJ 4450 Criminal Justice Administration CCJ 4604 Abnormal Behavior CCJ 4700 Research Methods II CCJ 4933 Selected Topics CCJ 4940 Internship CJC 4010 American Correctional Systems CJE 4010 Juvenile Justice Systems CJE 4114 American Law Enforcement Systems CJE 4610 Criminal Investigation CJL 3110 Substantive Criminal Law CJL 4410 Criminal Rights and Procedures CJL 4115 Environmental Law and Crime

Minor Requirements: 

Minor Requirements 18 hours Required with a minimum of 9 semester hours must be completed at USF. 6 hrs Core Courses : CCJ 3024 Survey of Criminal Justice System & CCJ 3117 Theories of Criminal Behavior 12 hrs Criminology Elective courses
