The BSW program is limited access. Admission is selective and competitive. Once a student is in the semester where he or she is completing all the prerequisites , there is an application that must be submitted to be eligible for admission into the program. Students are admitted in either Fall or Spring semester. The program courses are only offered in Fall and Spring semester. There are no summer courses available in the major. Once admitted to the major, the BSW program takes 3 semesters to complete; and is a daytime, full-time program. BSW Program- Courses for Completion Spring (12 credit hours) SOW 3101-Human Behavior and the Social Environment SOW4522- Multi- Cultural America SOW4341- Multi-Methods of Social Work Practice I Fall (14 credit hours) SOW 3102- Human Behavior and the Social Environment SOW 3401- Research and Statistics for Social Work SOW 4343- Multi Methods of Social Practice II SOW 4930- Social Work Elective Final Semester (12 credit hours) SOW 4510- Field Placement SOW 4233- Social Welfare: Policy and Program SOW 4510- Integrative Field Seminar Total: 38 credit hours In order to proceed from Fall to Spring or from Spring to Fall semesters, a student must maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA in the Social Work (SOW) Major courses, complete required courses for the semester, and receive no grade lower then a “C” in any SOW course.
