TKR Flex Cable Issues addressed :

TKR Flex Cable Issues addressed Mechanical Grid – Flex Cable Interface CTE mismatch Tower – Grid (introduce loop) Cable – Wall interference: move resistors Cactus arm resistors on wall side, all other on TEM side Cable – TEM interface (take out loop) Stiffener at D connectors (TEM side) see below Assembly Procedure (NO pre-bend, but needs more meat) Bend Tool for Cactus arms (existence proof only) Electrical Doubling Vias Via Stay-clear in Bend Area Resistors to Improve GTRC margins (out) Resistors to Improve Polyswitch Functioning (in)

To be Done :

To be Done Coordination: Jerry Clinton, Parts: Jeff Tice Mechanical Layout: Tim O’Heron, Electrical Layout: Dave Nelson C0: draw LAT doc number for Stiffener Gerber file, change dimensions in mech. Drawings Make corrections in assembly drawing Update “Assembly Process” with resistors, and RPJ comments C1 – C7 Layout: Same Interface with Grid Problem Area: C4-C5 Stay Clear on Top Start PO for Flight Order now Specs and SOW are signed – off, have ROM Order Parts from “Flex_cables_2_17”:

Assembly Process Doc :

Assembly Process Doc Responsible: Jerry Clinton, Parts: Jeff Tice RPJ Message: should the drawing not specify the thermistor to be glued down and then potted? In flight cables we will also need to specify potting for the connectors and resistors (or maybe just a conformal coat for the latter). Should there not be a note on the drawing regarding the cure cycle for the film adhesive (done)? I would like to make it clear somehow that the film adhesive needs to extend under the metal wings of the connector, not just the main plastic body. This was not done so far at SLAC, but it is important if we are to be sure that the metal shells don't pop off. hartmut: Update with other parts: 39kW, thermistor, stiffener(?),
