FINDINGS Most of the employees of NHPC are satisfied with the present performance appraisal system. Most of the employees do not feel the need of training. Performance appraisal helps a lot in identifying the hidden potential of the employees. If the performance of the employees is average or below average 70% of employees feel the need of training. The performance appraisal in NHPC is done annually. The employees are satisfied with the performance appraisal procedure conducted in the organization.

LIMITATIONS   : 

LIMITATIONS The scope of sample size was confined to HR department only, which would have otherwise made study and observations more effective. All the results and conclusions are drawn on the basis of whatever information has been provided by managers and other employees working in NHPC. So there are chances of personal biasness as well. The stipulated time for the project is insufficient to undergo an exhaustive study about the topic assigned and moreover the scope of the topic is wide enough. Some of the respondents were unwilling to give information.

CONCLUSION: 

CONCLUSION The main objective of the survey was to have the employee opinion on the level of satisfaction. The various responses were then studied to identify the areas where the management needs to focus to increase employee satisfaction and performance. Responses obtained are analyzed with the help of pie charts. What they are least satisfied with, are their provisions for promotions, training, etc. Suggestions were given to improve job satisfaction of the employees in the company. As high satisfaction will create an emotional bond with the company for providing excellent services.
