Slide 1:

Sex Education for Girls Music background: A World without Love  by Peter and Gordon  Released as their first single in February 1964, reaching #1 in UK. This is Lennon/McCartney masterpiece.

Slide 2:

Sex Goes to School illuminates the tensions between and among adults and youth attempting to make sense of sex in a society that was then, as much as today, both sex-phobic and sex-saturated. When we think of sex education way back to the 1950s—if we think of it at all—we think ultraconservatism, repression, and above all, gross misinformation. The debate over sex education in schools has raged since the 1960's when the government first provided funding to create a sex education teacher manual. It is during this restrictive time that the seeds were planted for the time of sexual liberation that would follow. What you are about to read is an actual extract from a Sex Education school text book for girls, printed in the early 60s in UK.

Slide 3:

When retiring to the bedroom, prepare yourself for bed as promptly as possible. But remember to look your best when going to bed. Try to achieve a look that is welcoming without being obvious.

Slide 4:

Whilst feminine hygiene is of the utmost importance, our tired husband doesn't want to queue for the bathroom, as he would have to do for his train.

Slide 5:

If you need to apply face-cream or hair rollers wait until he is asleep as this can be shocking to a man last thing at night.

Slide 6:

When it comes to the possibility of intimate relations with your husband it is important to remember your marriage vows and in particular your commitment to obey him.

Slide 7:

If he feels the need to sleep immediately then so be it. In all things be led by your husband's wishes; do not pressure him in any way to stimulate intimacy.

Slide 8:

Should your husband suggest congress then agree humbly all the while being mindful that a man's satisfaction is more important than a woman's. When he reaches his moment of fulfillment a small moan from yourself is encouraging to him and quite sufficient to indicate any enjoyment you may have had.

Slide 9:

Should your husband suggest any of the more unusual practices be obedient and uncomplaining but register any reluctance by remaining silent. It is likely that your husband will then fall promptly asleep so adjust your clothing, freshen up and apply your night-time face and hair care products.

Slide 10:

You may then set the alarm so that you can arise shortly before him in the morning. This will enable you to have his morning cup of tea ready when he awakes

Concluding:- The 1960s sexual revolution made a big promise: if we just let go of our inhibitions, we’ll be happy and fulfilled. Yet do you feel that sexual liberation has made us any happier and, if anything, more fulfilled?.
