Slide 1:A pun, or paronomasia, is a form of word play that deliberately exploits ambiguity between similar-sounding words for humourous or rhetorical effect.
Punning has been used by writers such as Alexander Pope, James Joyce, Vladimir Nabokov, William Shakespeare (who is estimated to have used over 3,000 puns in his plays), John Donne and Lewis Carroll. There is nothing punny about bad puns Example: The 4th word uses a pun on the word ‘punny’ standing out for funny
Slide 2:I studied a long time to become a doctor, but I didn't have any patience.
Slide 3:My first job was working in an orange juice factory, but I got canned...couldn't concentrate.
Slide 4:After that I tried to be a tailor, but I just wasn't suited for it...mainly because it was a so-so job.
Slide 5:Then I tried to be a chef -- figured it would add a little spice to my life, but I just didn't have the thyme..
Slide 6:Next I tried working in a muffler factory but that was too exhausting.
Slide 7:I managed to get a good job working for a pool maintenance company, but the work was just too draining.
Slide 8:Next was a job in a shoe factory; I tried but I just didn't fit in.
Slide 9:I attempted to be a deli worker, but any way I sliced it, I just couldn't cut it.
Slide 10:I became a professional fisherman, but discovered that I couldn't live on my net income.
Slide 11:SO I RETIRED AND FOUND I'M PERFECT FOR THE JOB
