Body Language :

Body Language A folklore about non verbal communication

Slide 2:

Once upon a time …………...... A king wanted to learn about the use of body movements for effective communication.

Slide 3:

King summoned Ramu and Shamu who were the two well known experts in this field residing in his kingdom and told them his wish.

Slide 4:

The King then called Ramu and gave him five Roti (Indian Bread) and told him to share with Shamu without uttering a single word.

Slide 5:

Ramu waved at Roti and made an action like a clap. Shamu didn’t waste much time and shown his fists.

Slide 6:

Ramu also showed his fist. While the king was watching with keen interest Shamu hold palm of his hands perpendicular to each other and made an action like cutting with knife.

Slide 7:

Ramu folded both his hands. Then he cut one roti and they both shared equally two and half each. The king wondered that how they reached to that solution and decided to ask both of them the meaning of their gestures separately.

RAMU’s version :

RAMU’s version Well……..As You know……….. First I had shown with my five fingers that there are five Roti. Shamu replied that he will have two with his two fists. ……But …..I asked …….What about one roti out of five which will remain if we take two each using the single fist ? So Shamu suggested that we should cut remaining one. For that cleverness I folded my hands with “ Namaste ”.

shAMU’s version :

shAMU’s version Well……..As You know……….. First Ramu had shown with his five fingers that he will have all five Roti. I replied that I will not remain quiet and will hit him with my fists if he does not share. To this he showed the fist saying that he is ready to fight. Then I had shown him that I am mightier than him and will cut him into pieces. So he realized it and folded his hands to forgive him and shared exact half of the five roti with me.
