Because we all eat rice everyday, treasure every grain because it is not easy to plant rice.In the picture you will see how they do the "sikka" (Ilocano word to harvest you rice seedlings to be planted) and the actual manual planting rice in the muddy field. It is a back breaking process in an aging back. There were about 15 professional young men and two amateur old men. (Bob is in the maroon shirt and I am wearing a white cap)At the end of the day I gave all the planters used clothes donated by Jonelle and Ed, Olette and Bob, Emma and Amboy, and my neighbor in Henderson Sunny and Mary. Everyone was happy to have classy clothing from sophisticated donors.Please remember that there are poor people in our country and many thanks for all your help and generosity that you extended.
