In 2002, he was appointed to the Diaconate at the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George in Bethesda, Maryland, by Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco. Later, he was ordained to the Holy Priesthood of Aitolos on the feast day by Metropolitan Gerasimos at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St. Paul.

Father Luke Melackrinos is a well-known Spiritual Leader at the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Paul. He was the driving force in the successful development of various Christ-Centered Ministries in St. Paul's Cathedral, including Little Angels Program, St. Paul's Nursery School, and Vacation Church School. In 2002, he was appointed to the Diaconate at the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George in Bethesda, Maryland, by Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco. Later, he was ordained to the Holy Priesthood of Aitolos on the feast day by Metropolitan Gerasimos at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St. Paul.

Father Luke Melackrinos is always willing to guide both the young and adults regardless of their nationality. He helps them in various problems related to their personal and social life. He has also written and published more than thirty publications, “The Epistle” which are both dictated as well as reviewed by him. He pursued his education from one of the leading colleges & schools. In 2003, he graduated from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School in Theology.

Father Luke Melackrinos contributes to various charitable causes. He is a weekly volunteer at Inn Soup Kitchen and also established a weekly food run in Hempstead, New York in order to feed more than 100 needy people of Hempstead. In his free time, he likes to spend some quality time with his family. He is married to Marusia (Podhurec), the daughter of a reputed Ukrainian Orthodox priest. She is a mother of three children Eleni, Magdalena, and Mia.
