COPS = ORGANIZATION : 

COPS = ORGANIZATION Your writing needs to be ORGANIZED correctly SENTENCES: Start with a CAPITAL End with PUNCTUATION (period, exclamation mark, question mark) Has a SUBJECT (who) and a VERB (what they did) Makes SENSE PARAGRAPHS: At least 5 SENTENCES Starts with a TOPIC SENTENCE Contains at least 3 SUPPORTING DETAILS Ends with a CONCLUSION SENTENCE

COPS = PUNCTUATION Remember to PUNCTUATE PERIODS . Abbreviations (Mrs.) and at the end of a NORMAL sentence EXCLAMATION MARKS ! At the end of a sentence = EXCITED QUESTIONS MARKS ? At the end of a sentence = QUESTION COMMAS , Used for pauses, quotations and for LISTS QUOTATION MARKS “_” Put around words that someone SPEAKS APOSTROPHES _’_ Used for CONTRACTIONS (don’t) and POSSESSION (Mr. Taylor’s class)
