Founded in 2006, Weast Education has been a leading institution for ESL, English study, Math, and Sciences in the Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley region.  Weast is conveniently located close to Vancouver, in the small rural community of Abbotsford, and exclusively employs experienced, qualified, and capable teachers.  With a strong reputation for personal achievement, the school works diligently in meeting and exceeding the needs of all of our students. Weast offers several unique programs, including personally designed Alpha and Omega Reading programs; TOEFL and SAT test preparation classes; non-fiction courses, which use newspapers and scientific texts for material; creative and academic writing programs; and elementary and high school math and science courses. 1. Alpha Reading Weast’s Alpha Reading program has been designed for our young readers. This six-level program concentrates on building vocabulary, reading speed, and comprehension. Highlights: Level 3—Junie B. Jones series & Magic Tree House Level 4—Fudge series, Beverly Cleary (Ramona Quimby, etc.) Level 5—Roald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach) Level 6—Harry Potter, Narnia series Building Smart WEAST EDUCATION LTD.

2. Omega Reading Weast’s Omega Reading program is for upper level students. It has been designed to promote reading comprehension, inference making, and appreciation for classic English texts. Our new debate program focuses on building students’ speaking abilities, their confidence levels, and their awareness of current events. It consists of three levels: Junior: Teaches the basic rules of debate, while debating topics that are relevant to all student levels. Senior: Teaches different debate styles and complex argument styles. Topics are more sophisticated, but all materials are supplied to the student. Advanced: For students who have achieved high marks in the Senior level of debate and want to continue. Topics are set and students are taught how to research and prepare their own topics. Weast’s Grammar and Writing program concentrates on building students’ ability to build smooth, cogent arguments and, importantly, on how to express these ideas in a clear, precise fashion. This program, also in Junior, Senior, and Advanced levels, moves from teaching students how to construct impactful sentences, through to paragraph development, and finally to essay writing. Grammar is concurrently taught with these programs in order to provide the necessary framework for writing. All of Weast’s teachers have spent years teaching these courses. The TOEFL iBT is an important test in the evaluation of a students’ English proficiency. Weast takes a systematic approach towards this test, focusing on students’ weaknesses in the four areas covered by the test (reading, listening, speaking, writing). Most students have seen dramatic score improvementsin their practice TOEFL exams after only a few months in our school. Building Smart WEAST EDUCATION LTD.

This course has been developed for those students quizzical about the natural world, technology, oddities, news, and culture. Source class material has been gathered from Junior: diaries, online articles, advertisements,… Senior: newspapers, magazines, blogs, … Advanced: advanced newspapers (New York Times), magazines, encyclopaedia entries,… Graduated: academic journals, pre-university periodicals, upper high-school textbooks,… Building Smart WEAST EDUCATION LTD.

Weast has helped many students through these difficult tests. If your son or daughter has a desire to attend university or college in America, you should consider Weast’s SAT preparation course. The SSAT helps determine the eligibility of a student in regards to private middle or high schools. Weast teaches students the basic guidelines to constructing a passing essay, and how to be successful in the math and reading comprehension sections of this test. Building Smart WEAST EDUCATION LTD.

This certificate granting program is for gifted or talented youth who may have an interest in attending summer student programs on American university campus. This short program is eligible for all students up to grade 11. The Center for Talented Youth (CTY) of the Johns Hopkins University accepts only excellent students (those in the top 95% of their grade school classes), but Weast has an amazing track record at coaching students through the test (over 80% of our test-takers passed with honours!). Weast is extremely Chinese friendly. Upper management all speak Mandarin clearly. We also exclusively employ native Mandarin speakers to teach our students how to read, pronounce and write this increasingly important language. Building Smart WEAST EDUCATION LTD.

French is taught at Weast using the British Columbia Teacher’s Federation approved immersion material. Emphasis is placed on oral ability, vocabulary building, and grammatical structure. Building Smart WEAST EDUCATION LTD.

Middle school courses can be a huge leap in difficulty from students’ experiences in elementary school. The teachers at Weast have a vast experience in assisting students through this transition.
