Avoidable Blindness Campaign:

Avoidable Blindness Campaign The 1st District Conference for Avoidable Blindness was organized by PP Venkatachalam on 18-10-2003. The 4th District Conference for Avoidable Blindness was organized by PP Tan Choon Kah on 21-5-2006. Initially the Club financed a limited number of cataract surgeries, cornea transplants and provision of eyeglasses. EYE FOUNDATION:

EYE FOUNDATION Rotary Club of Pasir Gudang Eye Foundation was then formally incorporated on 10th August 2000. The Ministry of Finance granted this Foundation Tax Exemption status on 15th July 2002. With this status, the income of the Foundation was tax exempted AND all donors can claim 100% tax deduction for the amount donated. With this status, more donors stepped forward to support a worthy foundation. This was achieved by the efforts of PP Venkatachalam 20-Oct-12 7 The RID3310 Rotary Foundation Seminar

ROTARY EYE CENTRE Our members realized that a suitable Eye Centre was of urgent need for the Foundation. Soft opening of the Eye Centre A Soft Opening Ceremony of the ROTARY EYE CENTRE during the Presidency of PP Patrick was carried out on 15th July 2007. Renovations kicked-off in March 2010 by our Matching Grant:

Finally on 20 th April 2010 we opened our Eye Centre This Centre employed full time 3 administrative staff in April 2010. This Centre was opened to the public on 20 April 2010 under the Presidency of R Jothirajah. operates Monday to Friday from 9.30 am – 4.30 pm.
