Special Infrastructure for Book Scanning Projects We have quite a good numbers of scanners to accommodate your big projects shortly and most effectively. Here are the list of self developed Book Scanners and which under operation for various projects 5 numbers of A4 VKN Book Scanner, 3 numbers of A3 VKN Book Scanner, 2 numbers of A2 VKN Book Scanner, 1 numbers of A1 Book Scanner, 1 numbers of A0 Book Scanner. Infrastructure for supporting Scanning Projects Beyond this we have the following ADF and flat bed scanners 3 A4 size ADF(Automatic Document Feeder) scanners with output of 1200 images /hour/Scanner 2 A4 size Flat Bed scanners with output of 120 images /hour/Scanner Barcode scanner, Figure Print recognition devices. Our dedicated team to handle large projects We have qualified team of Programmers with more then 5 years experience in the filed of software development. We have qualified team of Designers with more than 5 year experience in the field of Web, designing, Web hosting, animation etc. We have qualified team of Developer and researchers with more than 8 years experience in the field of hardware, development and maintenance. We have qualified team of Data Entry Operators with not less than 2 years experience, typing speed at a rate of 40-60wpm. VKN BPO’s Book Scanning Services : 

VKN BPO’s Book Scanning Services Collection of Data :- First step is to collect the raw data, books from the client. Preparation of Documents :- Once raw data is collect from client we prepared the data for scanning by cleaning dust, straighten the simple fold pages, if bend to achieve better scanning quality Scanning:- Once data is prepared our trained, well qualified scanning operators scan all the data with the required quality by the client, using VKN book scanners. Size of the scanner adopted purely depends on the size of the book. Image Correction :- Rotating of Images :- As soon the scanning process is completed the data is transmitted and stored in a server. And the first process towards image correction would be rotating of images in vertical position to maintain a uniqueness in images. Tilting of Images :- In this stage, the images are tilted to have a perfect straight image. Deskew is a process in which the lines which are bent while scanning are straightened to reduce the blur in the image and also the image s in this stage are fine tuned to enhance the quality of the image.

Slide 5: 

Border Removal :- After tilting the images, the border removal process would be in action. The border of images would be removed to enhance the quality of images by make the images larger and sharper. Cropping :- After border removal, the images are crop by selecting the required final area of images so that it would reduce the storage space of data and would still increase the image size. Page number correction:- Once the image correction process is over we arrange all the scanned book images in sequence, and the missing image would be reproduced and added to the folder, thus creating a 100% flawless work. Quality control process :- After all the above process is completed finally we send our final data to our quality control team, our QC team will check the data for final output with raw data and if any image are found not satisfying the quality, immediately those files are deleted and are sent for rescanning. Once again all the above process are done and the image are added to the file at the right place and then passed on to the Final Inspection. The final inspector check image for quality, clarity, sharpness, image sequences, appearances and pass on the final output data to the client in the required format(.PDF, .JPEG, .TIFF). Storing of data :- After Final Inspection, the shall be stored as per the client requirement such as .PDF, .JPEG, .TIFF etc.

Following services are additional services preferred by our clients Background Removal :- In this stage the back ground of the images are gently removed so that the data of the image are not affected and are passed on to the QC. 98% of the images look better after passing through this stage but few images, lose their originality as when the back ground are removed the images loses few of the data, especially colour images files(glossy). So this stage would be accepted only after seeing the books as it differs from book to book. Beyond all it improves tremendously the quality of the page and that why it is preferred by most of our customers. As the quality and clarity of the images are tremendously increased, it make the images more pleasurable for the readers who use it. Indexing of Data :- The most important stage where scanning becomes digitization is at this point. In this stage, the images are converted to a .PDF and 99% of the text are made searchable and thus made the readers search the data with ease. The process of learning are made much simpler. As you know when a student or a reader searches for a keyword say “Amoeba Cell” in a “Biology” book, he could hardly search from the index page or from the title, if it is mentioned as a separate topic. But here if he just type the same word in the search area, the whole books say 500 to 600 pages are searched in a couple of minutes and the let the user know every single place where this word is found on the whole book and their making the reader get the data at the earliest and adding fuel to his innovative ideas without making him search for data’s from book to book and from page to page.

As you can see the original image, you can very well see the data’s like, signature, photograph, pictures, finger prints, which differs from the copies taken from the originally.
