The generational gap is and was a term popularized in Western countries during the 1960s referring to differences between people of a younger generation and their elders, especially between children and parents.Slide 3: E very generation has a point of view that is different from the previous generation, and the previous generation invariably does not agree to this point of view. A generation gap can be simply explained as the younger generation feeling that it is right, while the older generation(s) assumes that the younger one is wrong .GENERATION GAP - A BOON OR BANE FOR SOCIETY??: GENERATION GAP - A BOON OR BANE FOR SOCIETY??PROS:-: PROS:- A dvantage of a generation gap is that a younger person could learn from the wisdom and experience that an older person has acquired with age.Slide 6: EXPERIENCEEXAMPLE: EXAMPLE Grown children often boast a better education and more secure finances than their parents, while the older generation may be richer in experience.CONS:-: CONS:- Too much of interference may prove to be harmful for child’s proper social growth.EXAMPLE: EXAMPLE Many seniors cannot understand the need of the younger generation to use technology in order to communicate when the good old snail mail or telephone is available . On the other hand, younger people cannot understand why many older people object to computer games, social networking and cell phones.CONCLUSION:-: CONCLUSION:- In order to overcome the generation gap, trust is important. This means that the person should trust another person to give positive feedback. The feedback, in turn, can help a person learn.
