WORLD’S MOST WELL-KNOWN AND VALUABLE BRANDS Holds a leading share in the globally branded quick service restaurant segment Research is undertaken with the object of finding out sufficiency of financial rewards in the company. Considering amount of pressure exerted and numbers of hours involved in the job, Financial Rewards are not sufficient to create sustained levels of motivation. 2

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE :RESEARCH OBJECTIVE To determine whether the financial rewards are sufficient to create sustain level of motivation in employees (Managerial level) of McDonald’s. To find out factors affecting the level of motivation in employees (Managerial Level). Determine the effects of different factors on the level of motivation of employees (Managerial Level) in McDonald’s. 4


RESEARCH DESIGN :RESEARCH DESIGN THE SAMPLES Convenience Sampling : The research was based on five high performing McDonald’s restaurants in Bay Area. ‘Convenience Sampling: This is just a respectable sounding term meaning that your sample includes anyone you could get. The method is particularly used in exploratory studies’. SOURCES OF DATA Interview : Interviews were conducted of Business Managers, Assistant Business Manager and Operational Consultant with prior approval of higher authority in McDonald’s. ‘Interviews by stating that they are method of collecting data in which selected participants are asked questions in order to find out what they do, think or feel. The whole process can be very time consuming and expensive, and in some cases a short questionnaire may be more appropriate’. 5


RESULTS :RESULTS PEOPLE INVOLVED The research was undertaken on 15 Business Managers, Assistant Business Managers and Operation Consultant. Out of 15 people, 9 were males and remaining females. INTERVIEW QUESTIONS: What is your designation? 6


Slide 7:What is your educational qualification? Out of 15 interviewees, only 7 had serious qualification [Degree]. Debby Barry and Wayne Brookes – Assistant Business Managers- were the only people to get the job on the basis of qualification. The rest of them got to the position through experience in the company and hard work. 7

Slide 11:Are Financial Rewards sufficient to create sustained levels of motivation? This is the most important part of the research. Research was undertaken with the object of finding out sufficiency of financial rewards. When asked the question regarding sufficiency of financial rewards, majority of interviewees replied negatively about the financial rewards. 11


RECOMMENDATIONS :RECOMMENDATIONS McDonald’s needs to be aware of the situation and design jobs keeping in mind numbers of factors which affect the performance in work place. McDonald’s don’t only need to motivate individuals. They should provide them with an environment to be self motivated. The company should take necessary actions to cure the problem of stress by making job more interesting. Effective communication of all kinds is crucial to the success of every organization. CONCLUSION :CONCLUSION Considering all these factors, it concludes that not only financial rewards, but non - financial rewards are equally important for the motivation of work force at Mc Donald’s. 13
