Make a Difference.“ The ELLE team is very dedicated to the cause, and the motive is very simple: “Do a breast self-exam, and join the fight against breast cancer.” Along with Ogaan Cancer Foundation, the ELLE Breast Cancer Campaign have been promoting better breast health for five years. ELLE takes forward its Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign : ELLE takes forward its Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign ELLE takes its PINK RIBBON initiative one step ahead with the release of a television commercial to create public awareness, highlighting the significance of a regular breast self-exam. Featuring the commercial company said, “The fact that the add is for ELLE meant that it would be stylish and of the highest quality” Lending their support to the cause, the following television channels will air the public service advertisement: Sony Entertainment Television, SET MAX, STAR Plus, STAR World, Channel [V], STAR Gold, STAR Movies, STAR One, NDTV Media, NDTV Imagine , AXN, 9XM, 9X, MTV, ZOOM, Times Now. Slide 6: Why PINK RIBBON? the international symbol for breast cancer awareness ELLE PRESENTS A CARNIVAL 4 A CAUSE : ELLE PRESENTS A CARNIVAL 4 A CAUSE “WHERE FASHION JOINS HANDS AGAINST BREAST CANCER” The sole driving force for ELLE to start this campaign is based on this study report, that One out of 30 women in urban India runs the risk of developing breast cancer. Statistics from Tata Memorial Hospital show there were an estimated 90,000 breast cancer cases in India in 2005, leading to over 48,000 deaths. If the trend continues, the figures are expected to reach 1.02 lakh and 55,000 respectively by 2010. Slide 8: ELLE works along with the fashion fraternity to raise funds and awareness. They have raised (in the last two years alone) over Rs 70 lakh for the Women’s Cancer Initiative, Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. The event brought together the fashion fraternity to create affordable lines of clothing and accessories (inspired by the pink ribbon), which were then retailed exclusively at the carnival. The carnivals have till date raised over Rs 1 crore and there are plans to expand to other centres. SONAM KAPOOR : SONAM KAPOOR is the face of Elle's BREAST CANCER Awareness Campaign Slide 10: ELLE magazine has roped in sweet Sonam Kapoor for Breast Cancer Campaign. She is seen in stylish look in black and white image with a tagline............... “WEAR YOUR STYLE GENEROUSLY” Slide 11: Sonam Kapoor not only has a gorgeous face she also has a beautiful heart. She has been named the face of Elle's Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. “A press release from the company said” PRETTY IN PINK IN DIOR : PRETTY IN PINK IN DIOR Sonam Kapoor attended the Elle Breast Cancer Campaign in Mumbai, in a modified “PINK CHRISTIAN DIOR GOWN” SONAM read a note on this event : SONAM read a note on this event "One of my friend's mother had breast cancer and I have seen what she has gone through. Few women after menopause, tend to get susceptible to breast cancer and it is very important for them to be aware of the issue in order to cure it. As a face of Elle in this campaign I will use my celebrity status to tell women to be progressive and not regressive.“ Slide 14: Sonam Kapoor With Elizabeth Hurley At Elle Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Elizabeth Hurley & Sonam Kapoor, seen in Breast Cancer Awareness Event hosted at Taj Hotel, the theme was pink and Sonam came dressed in a STRAPLESS PINK GOWN flashing her hot body. While Elizabeth Hurely present at the same function came in a traditional Indian red Saree.
