Who are the beneficiaries and benefactors of JUETENG? By Vernon B. Galletes Jueteng or numbers game played by most Filipinos as a pleasure. A few, makes it a source of living by its collectors of bets (cabos). Habitually, gamblers select a pair or 2 numbers from 1 up to 37 with 1,369 combinations on no limit to the amount of bets. On the 1,369 combinations victimizes the poor people expecting unto their winning bets and makes themselves “victims of illusions.” San Fabian Mayor Mojamito Libunao told mediamen last Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the Kapihan sa Star Plaza “There is a failure in government and there is also a failure in the church . . . . . there is a failure in school because they are not able to inculcate what they feel should be inculcated”.
