What Were You Thinking Cupid?© 2007 Laurence E Butterfield (An unsigned songwriter)http://home.comcast.net/~vermonter13/home.html By Cupid’s arrow I’d been hit His aim so straight and true But he missed the one I loved And away the arrow flew Cupid’s arrow worked its charm And I loved this man to death Why just the very sight of him Would nearly take away my breath But Cupid missed him completely And my infatuation quickly died Because the way he used me Was robbing me of all my pride I have heard that Love is blind But I never heard that Love was stupid Have you completely lost your mind What were you thinking Cupid? He ignores me for all the sports From Baseball to NASCAR And he has to watch them all Down at the local bar When he’s not out with friends It’s not time with me he’s wishin’ He takes a couple cases and his boat Out on the lake, to do some fishin’ It’s not that I’m ignored or left behind That I find so wrong with him It’s that I know he doesn’t care for me As he continues to chase other women I have heard that Love is blind But I never heard that Love was stupid Have you completely lost your mind What were you thinking Cupid? Now it’s to late for even Cupid To come and correct his thing ‘Cause I’m yanking this arrow From my heart and giving it a fling No cherub’s arrow will I allow To control me or my heart When all I have to do is leave And make a fresh start I have heard that Love is blind But I never heard that Love was stupid Have you completely lost your mind What were you thinking Cupid?
