Living Lesson on Courage _ Responding to Danger without Thought of Ret

Presentation Description

Both the short-tailed weasel, also known as the ermine, and Jonathan, King Saul's son, show great courage and boldness in the face of great danger. Their confidence in their abilities and callings set an example for us as we travel through our Christian walks, especially as those around us challenge and confront us because of our faith. The story of the Battle of Michmash also presents the believer with cautions of which we must be aware as we live and work in a hostile world.

Unfortunately, sometimes confusion happens in our ranks…:

Unfortunately, sometimes confusion happens in our ranks… Jonathan and Saul had a lack of communication that caused a victory to become a sad & hollow event… Impetuous Saul placed a curse on any soldier that ate or drank anything during the battle …. & Jonathan unwittingly became subject to that curse.

So, what is our “take away”?:

So, what is our “take away”? Be strong and of a good courage , fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deut 31:6 but also be sure we are staying within His ways. Keep in mind the admonitions of the Ten Commandments… Jonathan knew his dad well, & dad had real problems, but he sowed seeds of discontent & disloyalty when he publicly denounced his father’s prohibition ~ always keep Matthew 18 in mind…& let God fight our battles!
