About Me: Alvaro Brito:

About Me: Alvaro Brito I graduated from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) with a degree in Cognitive Psychology and zeducation . Throughout my academia at UCI I was involved in assisting and mentoring students in nearby low performing schools. My education background gave me a foundation to further my study as a teacher. Currently, I am working towards a Masters of Teaching from the University of Southern California (USC). I am gaining the foundation, framework and pedagogical understanding to be an effective teacher and mentor. About TutoríaFacil My current vision is to create tutoring service that assists my community, by providing high quality tutors who are engaging to both parents and students. It is quite remarkable how much a student is able to improve academically with an effective tutor. I wish to share my knowledge and grow with a group of talented individuals who share my vision. Let us move forward and make a difference!

We will work diligently and compete to provide equal tutoring access to many families who are dealing with financial hardship. Each tutor has a unique teaching style and technique they have learned through experience or in the classroom. Let us learn from another and establish a grounded “ familia ” of tutors in order to grow as educators and mentors. Bi-lingual . Works well with students from various backgrounds. Definition of the Market :

Definition of the Market Target Market Our target market will initially focus on the Latino population around Los Angeles County. Affordable yet innovative tutoring services are in demand in these areas. Parents want their student’s to succeed in school. Many are discouraged from seeking tutoring services due to the fact that they are either too expensive or inaccessible. In the Latino community, the mother usually oversees the student’s progress and performance. They will be the best person we will like to speak with when recruiting new students. School Campuses (after school) and local libraries are the best sites to search for potential clients. There will be a great deal of students who either don’t qualify for free tutoring by the school or federal support and parents are seeking help for their student. Social Media Our website, Facebook page, Youtube channel, Google account and Twitter pages will be readily available to support and market Tutoria Facil services and special events. Community Outreach:

Community Outreach Not everyone in the communities that we serve can afford to have a tutor. Indeed, this impediment will serve as a challenge to us in trying to reach as many students with our services. For this reason we propose a pro-bono tutoring service to students who meet a certain criteria of hardship and a need of mentoring. Funding for this venture will come from a fundraising campaign to compensate tutors. Providing parents and students with social capital (the knowledge on how the American school system works and proper avenues to take to ensure college readiness). This includes translation services, support groups and various mentorships. We will provide the lack of accessible information in Spanish, support groups and mentorship as a way to empower the community.
