Lata Mangeshkar- The Heart of Indian Music Industry. We feel great pleasure to introduce about Lata devi. Lata Mangeshkar is one of the best singer of hindi film industry. She is listed in the Guinness book of World records as the most recorded artist in the world. It is estimated that She has more than 30,000 Solo, Duet and Chorus backed songs in 20 different languages from 1948 to 1987.


LATAJI’S FAMILY & LIFE Latabai Mangeshkar was born on 28th September, 1929, at Sikh Mohalla, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. Her father was Lt.Deenanath Mangeshkar a classical singer & stage actor, who came from Mangeshi in Goa. Mother Shudhhamati & their children, four daughters and a son (Lata, Meena, Asha, Usha & Hridaynath) did not receive a proper schooling However to compensate this shortcoming she gave her children music lessons early in life.

CARRER OF LATA JI The Life history of Lata Mangeshkar is truly fascinating.Lata Mangeshkar was very young when her father passed away, thus making the family dependent on Lata. To take care of her family’s economic situation, Lataji acted in as many as 8 Films in which young Lata acted:  1942 - Pahili Mangalagaur  1943 - Chimukla Sansaar  1943 - Maajhe Baal  1944 - Gajabhau (her performance was highly appreciated)  1945 - Badi Maa  1946 - Jeevan Yaatra  1946 - Subhadra  1948 - Mandir


CARRER OF LATA JI Lata Mangeshkar’s first Playback was in a Marathi film in 1942 - Kitti Haasal (was not used). Her first hindi playback was for the film AAP KE SEWA MAIN(1947) but she did’nt get noticed. At that time the film industry was ruled by female singers who had heavier & huskier voices like NOOR JEHAN,ZOHRABI etc. She was rejected on the account of her thin voice, but Ghulam Haider saw the potential in her and gave her a chance to sing in the film Majboor. The song “Dil Mere Todo” finaly got her noticed & it was touted as her breakthrough song. In 1949 she had four major hits from the film Barsaat,Andaaz,Dulari and Mahal.


CARRER OF LATA JI The Music industry had a huge makeover with the arrival of Lata Mangeshkar. Lata ji has sung with famous singers like Mahammed Rafi,Kishore Kumar,Mukesh etc. She has perfected almost every generation of music. Her success & determination made her one of the most powerful women in the industry. She refused to sing for the great composer S.D.Burman due to some misunderstanding & also stopped singing with Mohammed Rafi. Her power was so immense that they had to come back to her. She actualy monopolized the music industry & every director wanted to work with her.

She continues to sing every now and then for hindi movies, Lata Mangeshkar has a talent that is second to none.
