Talent Retention The key to an effective talent retention strategy is for the manager to be able to relate, understand, comprehend, and acknowledge talent for what it is. To properly retain talent, the effective manager must create an environment for the talent to be properly motivated. In order to do so, the manager must know the individual's unique motivations and also understand basic motivational theory.
