Premium member Presentation Transcript How To Jump Higher In Basketball And Dunk Like The Pros : How To Jump Higher In Basketball And Dunk Like The Pros Slide 2: All of us who play basketball wish to jump higher than what we currently manage, and although everyone has their limits, there are certain techniques that will help you jump higher by following them. 1.Use your arms: The first tip would be to use your arms while jumping. This helps give you a boost and build momentum. When you jump – starts with your arms Slide 3: straight out as you prepare your jump, and then while you are in the air, swing your arms as high as you can. This will result in a higher jump when compared with one where you don’t move your arms, or don’t move them as much. 2. Build your calf muscles: Your calf muscles are the ones that get mainly used when you are jumping. Slide 4: Build an exercise regimen that helps you strengthen these muscles. There are several exercises that help you build your calf muscles, these can be as simple as jumping rope to others like walking on your tiptoes for about 30 minutes every day. Building your calf muscles helps you in extending and increasing your vertical leap by jumping higher. Slide 5: 3. Warm up before the game and exercises: In order to jump higher you need to warm up your muscles before the start of every game and even the start of your exercise regimen. A five minute warm up consisting of running up and down stairs, or a quick jog will help you in getting ready for the exercises or the big game, and help you in jumping higher. Slide 6: 4. Practice Jumping: This one sounds a bit too basic, and yet people tend to overlook it because it is so basic. If you want to become good at something, you need to practice it for years, and do it over and over again. This not only helps you build your muscles and strength naturally, it also helps you discover your own style and what works best for you.
