They're everywhere now! The charities and organization that used to be dinosaurs when embracing technology are all over the web and social media. When you're on Facebook poking friends they're there and when you're watching to see who posted their latest idle thought on Twitter, they're also there.Slide 3: They've embraced these channels and others to share their stories with the world and acts as a reminder to others who wanted to give and participate only to forget.Slide 4: Whether or not this has helped make these charities more successful at what they do is questionable and can only be answered by the organizations themselves. What's interesting though is that now when you're working out how to start a non profit organization to impact the world, one has to include a chapter in marketing to include social media.Slide 5: The days of getting grants for non profit organizations are dwindling and new ways of raising funding have to be implemented. The world and its challenges are becoming smaller and smaller each day with the improvement of technology, and it will interesting to see if this will be beneficial to all in the long run.Slide 6: With the world the way it is though, all ends of days, sky is falling and Haiti hanging on the globe by a string, one has to wonder if all these charities are really working? They have telethons, send requests in the mail, have celebrity endorsers and much more, yet things don't seem to be getting any better.Slide 7: Then even when you think it is there is some scandal running wild about the head of an organization caught with his or her hand in the cookie jar. There's always a new emergency, a new need, a new natural disaster and more to attend to these days than ever before, which can be disheartening.Slide 8: It's not to say people who believe they have a good cause should not go about starting a non profit . It's just a wonder if these people themselves are well equipped to solve the problem or challenge they're interested in. We definitely shouldn't throw our hands up in the air and give up, but there needs to be some way to help ensure the success of these organizations.Slide 9: From financial aspects, to business aspects to solution aspects, there needs to be some way to measure and create success, so one emergency can be over and we move on to solving another problem in the world. http://www.starting-a-non-profit.net/ You do not have the permission to view this presentation.
