What is the Purpose? Sternberg created this particular test to assist individuals in identifying their dominant intelligence (Analytical, Creative, or Practical).

How is it Administered? : 

How is it Administered? The STAT can is available online or paper based. Usually teachers, counselors, psychologist or other educators/professionals are appropriate trained to administer the test.

How to Score the test?: 

How to Score the test? This process is quick and easy. After the individuals answer all the questions, they must transfer their answers from the survey to the key (located at the bottom of the page). The column with the most “True” responses will demonstrate the individual’s dominant intelligence (Analytical, Creative or Practical).

How can Counselors use this test? Counselors are able to use this assessment to assist individuals in identifying their own intelligence. Each of the 3 types of intelligence is unique and includes important elements for individuals to understand.

What are other tests that can be used?: 

What are other tests that can be used? Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence Test Each individual has a different intellectual composition. Educators can improve education by addressing the multiple intelligences of our students. These intelligences are located in different areas of the brain and can either work independently or together. These intelligences may define the human species. Standford-Binet Intelligence Scale The Stanford- Binet Intelligence Scale was originally developed to help place children in appropriate educational settings. It can help determine the level of intellectual and cognitive functioning in preschoolers, children, adolescents and adults, and assist in the diagnosis of a learning disability, developmental delay, mental retardation, or giftedness.
