Ephesians 5:32 http://fourorders.webs.com/What are the Four Orders?: What are the Four Orders? Why did God “begin” this order? How was it initiated? Who initiated it? /Who was responsible for every order? What was their message? How did they communicate the message? Where did they communicate? What was the result? /How will it “end”? Where am I now? What is my responsibility? How will I do my responsibility? 1 October 2011 2 Church OrdersFour orders outline: Four orders outline Every order had a beginning and all will end, then every thing will become new. 1 October 2011 3 Church OrdersFour orders - Reward: KINGDOM OF GOD CHURCH (Bride) KINGDOM OF SATAN Matthew 16:18-19 Luke 17: 20-21 1 John 5:18-19 John 3:5 Matthew 13:41-42 Matthew 13:47-50 CHRISTENDOM ISRAEL † HEAVEN HELL Four orders - Reward 1 October 2011 4 Church Orders Rev 3:20Introduction to Church Order: Introduction to Church Order God promised and Jesus sends the Holy Spirit and He initiated. The day God the Father came on Mt. Sinai and nation Israel was formed the same day Holy Spirit came and the Church was formed at Upper room in Jerusalem. Church started at the arrival of Holy Spirit and she will go when he leaves the world. Paul was chosen and revealed the mystery by the Holy Spirit. Saints are given responsibility to work in this order. Church order is to work for the Kingdom of God and take care of them. Church will not go to hell but can go back to Kingdom of God . Church will not go through tribulation since it will be taken in Rapture. Holy Spirit will take Church with Him. About Paul: Father : A Pharisee (Acts 23:6) Sister : See Acts 23:16. Meaning of his name : Saul means “one who asks”; Paul means “little, small.” Frequency of his name : Referred to 180 times: As Saul, 22 times; as Paul, 158 times Occupation : Tentmaker and apostle to the Gentiles (Acts 18:1-3; Eph. 3:6-8) Place of birth : The city of Tarsus, in Asia Minor (Acts 9:11; 22:3) Place of death: Rome (2 Tim. 4:6-8) Circumstances of death : He was killed by the sword. Important fact about his life : He was the greatest missionary, church planter, soul winner, and theologian in church history; he wrote 13 (perhaps 14) of the 27 New Testament books. Paul the Apostle's journey - Miles (9,150) Kilometer (15,090) 5 Church Orders 1 October 2011What is “Church”?: What is “Church”? It is a "Mystery”: The "Mystery of the Church" was first revealed to Paul (Eph. 3:1-3). Church was unknown to the OT patriarchs and prophets. The "Mystery" was, that God was going to form an entirely "NEW THING,” composed of Both Jew and Gentile, to be called "THE CHURCH" . It is used four times in Colossians and six times in Ephesians. It is a "Called Out" Body: The word Church comes from the Greek word "ecclesia" which means "Assembly" or a congregation of "called out ones”, Church is not composed of the people of any one nation, but of individuals from every kindred, people, tribe and nation. It is the "Body of Christ”: In Eph. 1:22, 23 we read-"And have put all things under His feet, and gave HIM (Jesus), to be the HEAD over all things to the Church which is His Body." It is to be the "Bride of Christ”: At present the Church is a virgin espoused. Paul said, "I am jealous over you with godly jealousy; for I have espoused you to one husband, whom I may present you as a chaste VIRGIN to Christ." 2 Cor. 11:2. How to enter into the Church order? Jesus is building with our willingness to be part in His suffering and be with Him in everything He is doing. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he will also deny us. 2 Timothy 2:12 Paul said, “I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me — the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace”. Acts 20:23-24. Rejoicing in Christ’s sufferings was Paul’s motto whenever he was beaten and put in prison. All his prison letters reflect this truth. 6 Church Orders 1 October 2011When Church Order started?: When Church Order started? The Church had its origin on the day of Pentecost. Pentecost, also called the Feast of Weeks, of Harvest, or of Firstfruits, was kept on the 50th day after the Passover and lasted one day. The birthday of the church, in the year of our Lord (Anno Domini) 30 A.D., on the 50th day after Jesus' resurrection and the 10th day after His ascension to heaven. It was the beginning of the Gospel era. On June 15, 1445 B.C., Israel arrived at Mt. Sinai. On the third day, God manifests himself on Mt. Sinai, accompanied by thundering, lightning, a thick cloud, the voice of a trumpet, an earthquake, smoke, and fire (Exodus 19:16-18). The day God the Father came on Mt. Sinai and the nation Israel was formed and Commandments were given, the same day Holy Spirit came and the Church was formed in Jerusalem. The Church had its origin in the mind of God "Before the Foundation of the World,” yet it did not exist until-after Christ's Ascension. There could be no foundation for the Church until Christ's death, resurrection and ascension. 7 Church Orders 1 October 2011Meaning for the Church: Meaning for the Church Warran Wiersbe writes, “The "kingdom of heaven" is a mixture of good and evil, true and false. It is not the church. The church is in the kingdom of heaven, but distinct from it. The kingdom of heaven is equivalent to our term "Christendom." The Greek word in the New Testament for our English word “church” is ekklesia . It is derived from the verb ekkaleo . The compound ek means “out,” and kaleo means “to call or summon.” Thus, the literal meaning is “to call out.” According to Smith's Bible Dictionary: The derivation of the word is generally said to be from the Greek kuriakon "belonging to the Lord.” But the derivation has been too hastily assumed. It is probably connected with kirk , the Latin circus, circulus , the Greek kuklos because the congregations were gathered in circles. The word Church comes from the Greek word "ecclesia" which means "Assembly" or a congregation of "called out ones". “Ecclesia” the Greek word for church, originally meant an assembly called out by the magistrate, or by legitimate authority. It was in this last sense that the word was adapted and applied by the writers of the New Testament to the Christian congregation. “If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints”? 1 Corinthians 6:1. 8 Church Orders 1 October 2011Kingdom of God to the Church: “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church , and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven ; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Matthew16:18-20 KINGDOM OF GOD CHURCH (Bride) Matthew 16:18-19 Jesus said. “I will build” ROCK/STONE Based on the Simon Peter’s confession - "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Matthew 16:16 Kingdom of God to the Church 9 Church Orders 1 October 2011“To call out” from where and for what?: “To call out” from where and for what? Is it called out from Kingdom of Satan or from Kingdom of God? According to Jesus in Matthew 16:13-15 “I will build my church” from this “rock” which is Kingdom of God not Jesus Christ. Church (Bride) is called out from the Kingdom of God not from the Kingdom of Satan. Church (Bride) responsibility is to build the Kingdom of God and take care of it. CHURCH (Bride) Kingdom of Satan KINGDOM OF GOD ( Petra) P O It is from the Greek word " petros " that the word Peter is taken. " Petros " in the Greek means a stone, the small fragment of a rock, while the Greek word "Petra" means a rock, or large mass of stone. 10 Church Orders 1 October 2011Paul’s letters and the Book of Revelation are the key: Paul’s letters and the Book of Revelation are the key The Bible is a Christ-centred book. The Old testament is the preparation for his life, The Gospels a manifestation of his life, The book of Acts a propagation of his life, and The Epistles an explanation of his life. The overriding theme of the epistles is Christ and his Church. Most of these books are addressed to local congregations (Galatians, Romans, 1 and 2 Thessalonians, 1 and 2 Corinthians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians). Some are directed toward pastors of local churches (1 and 2 Timothy, Titus), while others are written To individual members in the local congregation (Philemon). 11 Church Orders 1 October 2011Slide 12: The Epistles of Paul First Missionary Trip None Furlough Galatians from Antioch AD. 51 Second Missionary Trip 1 Thessalonians from Corinth AD. 51 2 Thessalonians from Corinth Summer AD. 51 Third Missionary Trip 1 Corinthians from Ephesus AD. 56 2 Corinthians from Macedonia October AD. 56 Romans from Corinth Winter AD 56/57 First Imprisonment Ephesians from Rome AD. 60 Colossians from Rome Autumn AD. 61 Philemon from Rome Autumn AD. 61 Philippians from Rome AD. 62 Release 1 Timothy from Macedonia AD. 62 Titus from Asia Minor Summer AD. 66 Final Imprisonment 2 Timothy from Rome AD. 67 Hebrews from Italy AD. 67-68? 12 Church Orders 1 October 2011Paul uses two different titles in his letters: Paul uses two different titles in his letters To Kingdom of God Romans 1:7 - Called to be saints 1 Thessalonians 2:12 - Who calls you into his kingdom and glory. 2 Thessalonians 1:5 - You will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God. To Church 2 Corinthians 1:1 - All the saints. Ephesians 1:1 - To the saints in Ephesus. Philippians 1:1 - To all the saints in Christ Jesus at Philippi. Colossians 1:2 - To the holy and faithful brothers in Christ. To Kingdom of God and Church 1 Corinthians 1:2 - To Those Sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy. Note: Chapters 1-10 to the Kingdom of God and from 11-16 to the Church. 1. Called to be saint - To the Kingdom of God 2. Saint - To the Church (Bride) Jesus Christ is not saint but “Holy”. We can call St. Peter and St. Paul but not St. Jesus. 13 Church Orders 1 October 2011Main content of Paul’s letters: Main content of Paul’s letters To Kingdom of God No divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought. 1 Corinthians1:10 Brothers, I could not address you as spiritual but as worldly — mere infants in Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:1 We know that an idol is nothing at all in the world and that there is no God but one. Corinthians 8:4 when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones. 1 Thessalonians 3:13 Do not associate with him, in order that he may feel ashamed. Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother. 2 Thessalonians 3:14-15 To Church (Bride) Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. “Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” 2 Cor 6:14,17 A complex organism, with many parts, each in its own place and with its own function, working together in harmony. Christ Himself is its head and directive force. Christ is the Head of the Universe. We approach Him directly, not through intermediaries, not even through angels. Suffering for the church ( Colos 1:24–29). The mystery (Colossians 2:2). It is used four times in this letter and six times in Ephesians with reference to certain aspects of God’s purpose that had not been revealed earlier. 14 Church Orders 1 October 2011“One Flesh” - Ephesians 5:25-33 : “One Flesh” - Ephesians 5:25-33 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— for we are members of his body. “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh .” This is a profound mystery — but I am talking about Christ and the Church. 15 Church Orders 1 October 2011Man’s relationship with family: Family relations (Female) Mother - माता or माँ Paternal Grandmother - दादी Maternal Grandmother - नानी Brother's wife - भाभी Sister - बहिन or बहन Elder Sister - दीदी or जीजी Younger Sister - छोटी बहिन Daughter - बेटी or पुत्री Granddaughter (son's daughter) - पोती Granddaughter (daughter's daughter) - नातिन or नवासी Aunts Father's older brother's wife (aunty) - ताई Father's younger brother's wife (aunty) - चाची Father's sister (aunty) - बुआ or फूफी Mother's brother's wife - मामी or माई Mother's sister - मौसी or ख़ाला Brother's daughter (niece) - भतीजी Husband's brother's daughter (niece) - भतीजी Sister's daughter (nephew) - भान्जी Wife - पत्नी (Bride) One body & One flesh One body The Church (Bride) Kingdom of God Husband – पति (Bridegroom) Genesis 2:24 - For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh . Ephesians 5:31 - “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh ” Man Man’s relationship with family 16 Church Orders 1 October 2011Relationship with others: “Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God”. 1 Corinthians 10:32 All three are different. To Corinthians Paul is saying since you are in the Kingdom of God and called to be saint do not case anyone to stumble. Since these three are not in the Kingdom of God. Jews are in the Israel order who are not entered into the Kingdom. Greeks who are gentiles and still in Creation order not accepted Jesus as their Savior. Church of God who have entered through the Kingdom but now they are in the Church order. Therefore, 1 Corinthians 1-10 was written to people who are in the Kingdom of God and from 11-15 to the Church (Bride) of God. Relationship with others 17 Church Orders 1 October 2011Responsibilities in the Church order: Responsibilities in the Church order Ephesians 4: The Oneness of the Church A complex organism, with many parts, each in its own place and with its own function, working together in harmony. Its basic principle is love, while Christ Himself is its head and directive force. Purpose of the body is to nurture each of its members into the perfect image of Christ The idea of growth, as expressed in these verses, seems to apply both to individuals and to the church as a whole. The childhood of the church will pass. Its maturity will come. Responsible to go and bring people from Kingdom of Satan to Kingdom of God. Responsible to work for Kingdom of God. 18 Church Orders 1 October 2011Leadership (Definition) in the Church Order: Leadership (Definition) in the Church Order 19 Church Orders 1 October 2011Ministries in The New Testament Church : Ministries in The New Testament Church MINISTRY SCRIPTURES FUNCTION Apostle I Corinthians 12:28 Acts2:43 To establish local churches. Ephesians 4:11-13 to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Church Orders 1 October 2011 20Where was Apostle Paul, Church or Kingdom of God?: Where was Apostle Paul, Church or Kingdom of God? 2 Thessalonians 1: 4: “we” ourselves … in the churches of God v 5 - that “you” may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God. Therefore, Apostle Paul was in the Church (Bride) and the people of Thessalonians were in the Kingdom of God. Paul wrote, “I have gone preaching the kingdom of God” Acts 20:25 Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 28:31 Therefore, among God’s churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring. All this is evidence that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering. 2 Thessalonians 1:4-5 Paul was working for and preaching about Kingdom of God and Church but he was in the Church of God. We can be one place at a time. In the Church or in the Kingdom of God. 21 Church Orders 1 October 2011The Book of Revelation: The Book of Revelation Revelation is the only prophetical book in the New Testament (in contrast to seventeen books in the Old Testament). Revelation is the only book in the entire Bible which begins by promising a special blessing on those who study it, and ends by promising a special curse on those who add or take away from it. It was written by John the apostle, who had already written four other New Testament books. They are: The Gospel of John, 1 John, 2 John, and 3 John. The author had previously reached farther back into eternity than any other Bible writer. In Revelation he reaches farther on into eternity than any other writer. 22 Church Orders 1 October 2011 Revelation is totally a book about God’s Lamb. The book can thus be outlined as follows: The Witnesses of the Lamb Instructed (1-3) The Worship of the Lamb Invited (4-5 The Wrath of the Lamb Invoked (6-19) The Reign of the Lamb Instituted (20) The Wife of the Lamb Introduced (21-22)Revelation outline: Revelation outline We have three orders now, Creation order, Redemption order and The Church order. We can be in any one order/place at a time, not two or three. During Rapture Church will go up first (Rev.4-5) but Kingdom of God will go through tribulation for 3½ years and then Great tribulation for 3½ years Rev. 6-18). During 1000 years all will not there (Rev. 20:5). Also there will be several rapture after Church (Bride) has taken up. When Jesus destroys the Kingdom of Satan and handover the Kingdom of God to the Father (1Cor. 15) then the Church (Bride) comes down (Rev. 20-21). Jesus and Church will be New Jerusalem but the people in Kingdom of God will be all over the new World and they will bring their gifts to the New City ( Jerusalem) (Rev. 21:24). 23 Church Orders 1 October 2011To Church (Bride): Lessons from Revelation: Chapter 2 is to People in the Churches (Four Churches ) What will I get if I overcome? Church Remark Ephesus - “To him who overcomes I will give the right to eat from the tree of life.” The tree of life indicates that immortality is dependent on something outside of us. This tree will again be accessible to those who belong to Christ at the end but definitely for the Church (Revelation 2:7; 22:2, 14). Smyrna - “He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death and I will give you the crown of life ” The “second death” is the final doom at the end, as distinguished from physical death, which is the lot of all humanity. It is here called the “lake of fire” . Pergamum - “To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna [and] a white stone with a new name written on it....” The promise to those who overcome (true believers in Christ Jesus) is “hidden manna” and a “white stone” with a “new name” known only to its owner. The hidden manna may be the fruit of the Tree of Life . Thyatira , - “To him, who overcomes, I will give authority over the nations ... [and] also ... the morning star.” Jesus Himself is the Morning Star ( 22:16 ). These faithful believers are instructed to hold on until Christ returns. By faithfulness, not by compromise, will the church attain true leadership. To Church (Bride) 24 Church Orders 1 October 2011To Kingdom of God: Lessons from Revelation: Chapter 3 is to People in Kingdom of God (Three Churches ) What will I get if I overcome? Church Remark Sardis: “He who overcomes will ... be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life.” True believers can rest assured that their name will remain in the Book of Life and that Christ will be their advocate. But He can not talk to bride like this “I will blot your name”. He can do that to servant not to Bride. Philadelphia : “Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God.” Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name. “I will make a pillar” , “I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem”. This means they will not sit beside me like Bride also he is not New Jerusalem but He will write the name on him. Laodicea : “To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne....” just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. This Church was in Church order when Paul wrote letter to Colossians (Col. 4). Then moved back to Kingdom of God. Jesus says “Come back” To Kingdom of God 25 Church Orders 1 October 2011Kingdom of God in Revelation: Kingdom of God in Revelation 9:4 - They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 9:20 - The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood-idols that cannot see or hear or walk. 11:15 - The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever." 12:11 - They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. 14:4 - These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they kept themselves pure . They follow the Lamb wherever he goes . They were purchased from among men and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb. 26 Church Orders 1 October 2011Rapture of the Church: Rapture of the Church Christ's coming "for" His Saints, and "with" His Saints. The former is called the "Rapture" the latter the "Revelation." Between the two there is an interval of at least seven years, during which the Church is "judged,” and the "Marriage of the Lamb" takes place in the heavenlies , and on the earth Antichrist manifests himself and the Tribulation runs its course. Numerous passages in scripture speak of Christ coming "with" His Saints (Zech. 14:5, Col. 3:4, 1Thes. 3:13, 1Thes. 4:14, Jude 14), but it is evident that they cannot come "with" Him, if they had not been previously caught out "to" Him. All such passages refer therefore to the "Revelation" and not the "Rapture." The Book of Life “I will never blot out his name from the book of life ” (3:5) . The beast’s followers are not in the book of life (13 : 8; 17 : 8) . Those not in book of life were thrown into the lake of fire (20 : 12, Heaven is inhabited only by those written in the book of life (21:27) 27 Church Orders 1 October 2011Judgment Seat of Christ: Judgment Seat of Christ The "Marriage" of the Church is prophetically- referred to by Jesus in the Parable of the "Marriage of the King's Son" (Matt. 22:1-3), and is consummated in Rev. 19:7-9. After the Marriage, the Heavenly Bridegroom, having received His Kingdom, will return to this earth where He bled and died, and from whence He got His Bride, and the Lord God will give unto Him the "Throne of David,” and He shall reign on the earth for a Thousand Years." At the marriage supper, individual believers are in the Kingdom of God will be guests, and Church will be the bride. After the Church has been taken out of the World it is to be "judged." Not for sin, but for works, at the "Judgment Seat of Christ. In 2 Corinthians 5:10 we read, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.” Those who have worked diligently for God in their Christian walk will be greatly rewarded—how we long to hear our Master Jesus say to us, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. The "Marriage" of the Church 28 Church Orders 1 October 2011The "Destiny" of the Church: The "Destiny" of the Church Everyone likes a story that has a happy ending. The story of the church has such a happy ending. The Bridegroom gets the bride and together they live happily ever after! The glorious destiny of the church is as follows: A. To be caught up by the Bridegroom at the rapture (1 Cor. 15:51-53; 1 Thess. 4:15-17; Rev. 4:1). B. To be examined and rewarded at the judgment seat of Christ (Rom. 14:10-12; 1 Cor. 3:13; 2 Cor. 5:10). C. To be united with Christ at the marriage service of the Lamb (2 Cor. 11:2; Eph. 5:22-32; Rev. 19:7, 8). D. To be seated with Christ at the marriage supper of the Lamb (Rev. 19:9). E. To reign with Christ during the millennium (Rev. 1:6; 3:21; 20:6). F. To share the New Jerusalem with Christ throughout all eternity (Rev. 21:1, 2, 9-27). G. To illustrate the glory of Christ throughout all eternity (Eph. 1:6, 12; 2:1-7; 3:10). 29 Church Orders 1 October 2011The Great Commission: Reference The Authority The Extent The Message The Activities Matthew 28:18-20 “All authority” All Nations All things Jesus commanded Disciple by going, baptizing ,teaching Mark 16:15 Name of Jesus All the World The Gospel heal the sick Go and preach to every creature Luke 24:46-49 Name of Jesus All nations beginning at of Jerusalem Repentance and the forgiveness sins Preach, Proclaim and witness John 20:21 Sent by Jesus as He was sent by the Father (The extent of the ministry, the message, and the activities are to be the same “as Jesus”) Acts 1:5 Power of the Holy Spirit Jerusalem, Judea, Samara, and the most remote part of the earth Christ Witness “All nations, tribes, peoples and tongues” Revelation 7:9-10 The Great Commission 30 Church Orders 1 October 2011Where to work in the Church order?: Where to work in the Church order ?
