What is a dead hard drive? A lifeless hard drive is considered to be a dead hard drive because the systems fails to recognize the drive and load OS.

In case of dead hard disk a data recovery software would not work. Connect the dead hard drive to another Mac system. Use a firewire port to connect the dead hard drive to another Macintosh.
How to do??:
How to do?? With firewire, connect the cable to the back of system having dead hard drive and the other Mac. Press hold the 'T' key from the keyboard attached to the dead hard drive. While holding the T key switch on the Mac. A dead hard drive icon appear on the desktop. Remove the finger from the 'T' key. Double click on the icon of the dead drive.

The data present on the dead hard drive is visible and can easily be transferred though dragging it to a location. Once the recovery is done, drag the dead hard drive icon to the trash bin. Disconnects the cable from both the Macs.
