Slide 3: We Thank: AZIZA CLAUDIA GIBSON-HUNTER PERCY MARTIN MICHAEL PLATT ELSA GEBREYESUS DORIS COLBERT KENNEDY ROSETTA DEBERARDINIS BRUCE McNeil RENEE STOUT JOSEPH HOLSTON Slide 4: Ms Renee Stout introduced us to her alter ego, root worker Fatima Mayfield Slide 5: And Fatima’s Assemblage to Stop a Man From Lying Slide 6: He created the series to embolden African spirits in a protected space. Mr. Akili Anderson showed pieces from his Sacred Spaces, Sacred Faces Sculptures. Here he is with Ancestral Beginnings. Slide 7: Photographic artist Mr. Bruce McNeil presented selected images from his solo show Between Latitudes at Parish Gallery Slide 8: He exhibited strong images with shock value. Here is Space Elevator from that show Slide 9: His prints and myth have many followers and collectors. Drumming Bush People illustrates an aspect of the myth Printmaker Mr. Percy Martin Published an abstract of his Bush People Myth Slide 11: Mr. Daniel T. Brooking showed Nonfigurative Abstracts RIOT An Adventure in Color, from that show, is indeed impressive Slide 13: Artist and activist Ms. Aziza Claudia Gibson-Hunter showed selections from her conceptually dense and provocative series: Suspicious Activities Slide 14: New World Order Condoleezza Rice is the focal center. Images of the parents of Emmit Till; a murdered District of Columbia black man , an Iraqi citizen holding pieces of his daughter and other provocative images are shown in this work. Slide 15: We showed selections from HARMONY OF COLOR: THE ART OF JOSEPH HOLSTON COLOR IN FREEDOM: JOURNEY ALONG THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD Slide 16: Here is Subjugation from the Living in Bondage Movement of the Show. Slide 17: Mr. Michael Platt showed selected Images from International Visions- The Gallery show. Sun Day is an impressive image from that show Slide 18: The Sun Day Slide 19: Abstract Expressionist Rosetta Deberardinis presented exciting images Slide 20: This is Deberardinis’ Passion. A remarkable three-layer pyramid having fields of colors ranging from blue (tints and shades) to reddish (tints and shades). Gestural stokes of white (tints and shades) paints are all over. The impact is both spiritual and solid. Slide 21: Abstract Expressionist Doris Colbert Kennedy honored us with two shows. Slide 22: Gluinoscape is her intuited image of the movement of energies, through space and time, on or in a gluino force particle. Slide 23: Our most recent show was Returning to the Source by Abstract Artist Elsa Gebreyesus In which she explored ,Fidel, the ancient language and symbols of Eritrea and Ethiopia Slide 24: This is Ancestry in Motion IV from that show Slide 25: Tokesplace.com hopes you enjoyed this retrospective.
