Scanning creates an electronic copy of a document Slide 2: 2 Find a computer that has a scanner attached to it Find the scanner… Slide 3: 3 Lift the scanner’s lid and place your document face down on the glass plate Ready to scan… My document_______ _______ Close the scanner’s lid when you are ready to scan Slide 4: 4 Press the “Scan” button on the front of the scanner to launch the scanning program Automatic ... Slide 5: 5 Manual… If you can’t find the “Scan” button, launch the program from your computer Slide 6: 6 The scanning software…. Click the “Next” Button Slide 7: 7 Preview your document…. Click the “Preview” button to check what you are going to scan Slide 8: 8 Select the area… You’ll see a preview of your document here If you don’t want to scan the whole document, drag the green boxes to the correct area Slide 9: 9 Colour or Black and White? Click the a button under “Picture Type” to scan in colour or black and white Click “Next” to start scanning Slide 10: 10 Name your file… Give your scan a relevant filename Click “Browse” to choose a place to save the file (eg your H drive) Slide 11: 11 Finished scanning? Click “Next” to finish scanning Slide 12: 12 Close the program Click “Finish” to close the program Information about what you scanned appears and you can check your files Slide 13: 13 Lift the scanner’s lid and remove your document Remove your document My document_______ _______ Close the scanner’s lid when you have finished Don’t forget…. : 14 Don’t forget….
