If you come to class late: : If you come to class late: You will not be able to do the regular class assignment that period. Why?.....I will have already given instructions and it is not fair to the students who have arrived on time to repeat what has previously been explained. Therefore, late students will need to finish the period with an independent assignment. PS: This does not excuse you from the regular class work for the day If you come to class late: : If you come to class late: Open a word document on Google Docs. Pick up a literature book and begin copying the text. Give the story name and page number. Share the document with me at: thor1872@gmail.com. The ‘message’ line will read makeup work – (insert the period and date). If there is no computer, you will sit by Gina and perform the same task with paper and pencil, turning it in to my desk at the end of the period. All makeup work will be scheduled after school. : All makeup work will be scheduled after school. You will connect me to your caregivers and I will explain that you were late and must stay after school to make up the work. If you fail to stay, you must make up the work on your own by using the class blog. If the class blog doesn’t explain what you need, stay after school and I will help you. Otherwise, you will not be able to make up your work and your grade will continue to drop. What if you have a special, rare circumstance? : What if you have a special, rare circumstance? Another one of the habits of a successful adult is regular attendance – at work, at school, or anywhere else you have committed to being. These cards will be a visual reward for your timely, consistent attendance! (How many stamps can YOU collect?) When will you look at these cards? : When will you look at these cards? We will have regular meetings together, to discuss individual and group progress. Your attendance cards will be a visual evidence of your commitment to learning on a daily basis. When we have parent/guardian meetings, you can show them this evidence. Attendance is 25% of your grade.
