These are the people that decide who to hire and who to fire – in other words – whom they want to PAY to work for them! Learning good work habits starts in school! : Learning good work habits starts in school! In Capers’ Classes, students will keep and report their timeliness and attendance – practicing employable work ethics. It’s Simple…….. Come Every Day Be ON Time! Students will keep track of the class attendance and arrival times, just like employees do. : Students will keep track of the class attendance and arrival times, just like employees do. What are Attendance- Time cards? How do you keep track of class attendance? How do you get started? How do you use your Attendance-Time card? Who is responsible for maintaining your cards? What are Attendance-Time Cards? : What are Attendance-Time Cards? These are index cards with a calendar on them. You and I will use them to keep track of the days you arrive to class on time and the days that you are late or absent. These cards will be made when the student joins Capers’ Classes. : These cards will be made when the student joins Capers’ Classes. Prepare a 9x5 index card by cutting out a copy of the month’s calendar and adding your name and class periods to the top. Your name Class Periods x/y File your card in the file box in the classroom. : File your card in the file box in the classroom. How do students get started? : How do students get started? After you have created your Attendance-Time cards and filed them in the box, you are ready to begin keeping an account of your timeliness and attendance. How do students use their Attendance-Time Cards : How do students use their Attendance-Time Cards When you arrive in class, you will get your month’s card and place it on the desk or table in front of you. When class is scheduled to begin, (check the schedule for the time), I will come around and stamp your card, if you are present. I will collect those cards. The box will be removed after I stamp the timely student’s cards. Since students have two classes back-to-back with me, they will have a break to get the cards again, and I will stamp them for the second class, collecting them again. Once Again -When you come to class: : Once Again -When you come to class: Get your attendance card and place it on the desk in front of you. When the period is due to start, I will go around and stamp the date on the card. A stamped card indicates that you were on time to that particular period. If you come in after I have stamped the class cards, you will not have your card stamped, which will reduce the attendance points you can have for the quarter. When will my attendance card be evaluated? : When will my attendance card be evaluated? The attendance card will be used to help calculate your grade in my classes. You cannot get an excellent grade if you have not been here consistently and in a timely fashion. WHY?...a late student is disruptive to the learning environment for the other students. A late or absent student is not practicing positive work ethics. A student who comes to school when it is open and is on time……. : A student who comes to school when it is open and is on time……. Is rewarded by full grade points AND has established a work ethic that will cause employers to want to pay them money to work for them!
