History of LTTE : 

History of LTTE In 1972, Prabhakaran founded an organization named Tamil new tigers with aim of srilankan tamil nationalism. In 1975, prabha turned as millitant by assassinating the mayor of jaffna,allferd duraiappah, who blamed the tamil radical. In may 5,1976 Tamil new tiger turn as LTTE

LTTE RISE : 

LTTE RISE IN 1980’s,LTTE rising as great power by uniting all Tamill organisation in srilanka. They organised three main division:military wing,political wing,fund raising wing. LTTE military seems strong with sea tigers and Air tigers which holds five light weight aircraft and this the world first Air Force controlled by millitants. There sea power includes heavy submarines.

Major Drawback : 

Major Drawback LTTE carried out its first major attacks in July 23 1983 against the srilankan military.13 SL soldiers were killed in that attack. LTTE also launched several civilian attacks includes Dehiwala train bombing,central bank bombing. The assassination of Rajiv gandhi in 1991 at sriperumbudur leds major drawback for Tamil tigers. Which results in LTTE proscribed as Terrorist organisation by 32 countries. LTTE were carried out 168 suicide bombing attack(1980-2000) which targets srilankan military and economic.

Dreams come to an End In march 2002,srilankan govt and LTTE signed cease fire agreement and six rounds of peace talk were held with help of Norway govt but it failed due to LTTE demands on interim self governing Authority. In march 2004, senior commander colonel Karuna broken away from LTTE which results in clashes between major leaders in LTTE itself. After long fight between SL and LTTE, In Jan 2 2009 SL army captured the kilinochchi ,the major administrative capital of LTTE. Thousands of tamil civilians lose their life in this long civil war. In may 18 2009, SL govt officially announced the Prabhakaran’s Dead.
