RAFTS: What is the Prompt About? When you write, you always have a role and you are always writing to an audience.

RAFTS is a way to analyze a prompt:

RAFTS is a way to analyze a prompt R stands for ROLE A stands for AUDIENCE F stands for FORMAT T stands for TOPIC S stands for Strong Verb

Role:

Role The role is who you are going to be in the writing process.

Audience:

Audience The audience is the group of people you are writing your message to.

Format:

Format The format is the product that you have in the end.

Topic:

Topic The topic is what you are writing about.

Strong Verb:

Strong Verb The strong verb is the purpose of your writing.
