Reconstructive Surgery for Children

What is Reconstructive Surgery? Reconstructive Surgery is a surgery for kids with cleft lip and palate problems. It has been provided by Lua Viet Youth Association, a non-profit humanitarian organization, which has collaborated with those who voluntarily offer their services such as doctors, plastic surgeons, nurses, and numerous other volunteers from America.

The Needs In Vietnam, there are 200,000 cases of cleft lip and palate, which is estimated to have 300 additional cases each year. This congenital defect leaves a healthy child psychologically handicapped.

The treatment : 

The treatment The total cost for each case is $150 (which includes support for the family and hospital cost). A cleft lip or palate can be successfully treated with surgery, especially if conducted soon after birth or in early childhood . Our goal is to provide 100 or more surgery cases each year.
