There are many woods and forests in Slovenia – covering more than half of the country We've got mountains, lakes, waterfalls, forests, caves, hills, plains, rivers and the sea as well as many natural and landscape parks.

TOURISM :

TOURISM Slovenia makes a great tourist destination. You can ski in the morning and surrender yourself to the luxury of the Adriatic Sea in the afternoon. Tourists can visit many places. My favourite parts in my country are: Bled, Logarska Valley, Postojna cave, Heathen Maiden, Lipica, Piran, Planica and Kranjska gora but our lakes and rivers are nice, too.

Slide 6:

Logarska Valley lays in Kamnik Alps.In the year 1987 Logarska Vally was a protected natural park. Bled is another famous landmark. It is well known for its castle, lake and a delicious kremna rezina, also called kremšnita.

Slide 7:

Postojna cave is a great tourist attraction on Karst. You ride threw the cave by a little train and the tour guide tells you all about the cave. Haithen maiden is a natural skulpture above Vršič.

Slide 8:

Lipica is a village near Sežana. It attracts tourists because it’s the origin of the lipizzaner horses. Piran is a city on the sea coast. It has narrow streets and it has the famous Tartini square.

Slide 9:

Kranjska gora is a town in the Julyan Alps. It’s famous in winter because it sometimes hosts Alpine skiing world cup. Planica is a popular hiking destination in summer, though in winter it is known for ski jumping.

Slide 10:

river vallyes(Soča,Sava,Mura...) ski resorts (Pohorje,Kamnik Alps, Julyan Alps...) vineyards (Vipava Valley, Goriška Brda, Haloze...) Spa resorts (Čateške Toplice, Dolenjske Toplice, Šmarješke Toplice, Moravske Toplice ...) Other famous spots are:

HISTORY :

HISTORY Slovenian history started when our Slavic ancestors came from behind the Carpathi Mountains and proclaimed the principality of Carantania in the 7th century. Historians believe it was one of the most democratic and modern states at that point in history. So it is no surprise that even Thomas Jefferson took the example of Carantania when founding the modern American state. By the end of the 8th century, Carantania had become part of the Frankish Empire, then Slovenes were under the Habsburg dynasty after the first world war we joined the Croats and the Serbs and formed the kingdom of Slovenes,Croats and Serbs. After the second world war Yugoslavia was born, Slovenia became one of the republics in Yugoslavia. On 25 June 1991 Slovenia declared independence from Yugoslavia.

Slide 12:

GOOD BYE END OF THE SLIDE SHOW I live in Novo mesto. It’s a nice place, too. It’s in the South-East of Slovenia.
