Medvode : 

Medvode It's 12 km far from the centre of the capital Ljubljana, where there is the confluence of the river Sava and the Sora at the south – east edge of the Sorica field. Medvode lies between the two rivers that's why it got that name (Medvode – between water). It's also surrounded by nice peaks and the Alps at the back.  MEDVODE IN THE PAST The region of the present Medvode with it's surroundings was already settled in the prehistory. There are two proves: the find of a socketed axe from the Bronze Age at the construction of hydro – electric power station on the river Sava; the prehistorical ancient fort at Osolnik.  TODAY The city has got a good connection with Kranj, Škofja Loka and Ljubljana so the industry is developed too (Color, Donit, The factory of cellulose and The factory of paper). The places around Medvode have become interesting for many people who want to enjoy in fresh air and good view (Polhograjski Dolomiti: Osolnik, Govejek, Polhograjska grmada, Tošč and Jeterbenk; Šmarna gora; the old castle in Smlednik).

OUR SCHOOL : 

OUR SCHOOL Our school lies in Preska, a village not so far away from Slovenia's capital Ljubljana. It consists of two parts: the old and the new one. In the old part we have classrooms for art classes, history and craft, a dining room and a kitchen. We also have a very friendly chef, which will always make you laugh.  In the new, bigger part, there are classrooms for science (chemistry and physics), math, Slovene, English, music, biology, geography and a computer classroom. There are also two gyms and a library with over 14,000 books.  Primary school Preska is visited by students from villages Preska, Golo Brdo, Studenčice, Goričane, Sora and Dol. It also has two branch schools in Topol and Sora. There are about 400 students in our school at the very moment.  There are many interesting activities going on at our school. Students can visit sport activities such as basketball, football and volleyball, a school choir and plenty of other classes. There are also extra lessons which are visited by students who want to know more about something, or who don't understand something.
