Premium member Presentation Transcript PowerPoint Presentation: BY- SPARSH JAIN CLASS- VIII-D ROLL NO-32 MODERN TECHNIQUES OF AGRICULTURE AGRICULTURE: AGRICULTURE HISTORY OF AGRICULTURE: HISTORY OF AGRICULTURE MODERN METHODS OF AGRICULTURE: MODERN METHODS OF AGRICULTURE Sprinkler System This method is used where the soil cannot retain water for long or where sufficient water is not available. Rotating nozzles are attached to perpendicular pipes at regular intervals. Water gets sprinkled on crop as if it is raining. Drip System This System involves providing water drop by drop at the roots of the plants ,thus water is not wasted . This system is practiced in region where the water avaibility is poor. HARVESTING: HARVESTING Harvesting is yet another celebration of farmers when the harvest the crops, the harvesting season for different .The cutting and collecting of crops from the field is called harvesting .Even now in india harvesting with the help of the traditional method sickle is used.---- THRESHING: THRESHING Threshing is the process by which the grains are released from the chaff . This is done either by hand or by using animals such as bullocks or camels . The harvested crop is spread on the ground and the bullocks and camels are made to walk over them again and again with their feet till the grains come out of the chaff . The tractors are used for doing this job in modern times . The leaves and the stems of the crop s get crushed into smaller pieces . Although, the grain come out of the chaff , they still remains mixed with the chaff and crushed leaves as well as the stems of the plant . harvesting and threshing can be done simultanously with the help of a machine called combine WEEDING: WEEDING Weeds are unwanted, uncultivated plants or pests which grow along with the cultivated plant on their own .In other words , plants and pests other than crops are the weeds. They are threat to commercial crops as they compete for sunlight ,air ,nutrients and water . In comparison to cultivate crop ,the seeds of weeds ,germinate easily ,the seedling grow faster ,the flower early ,their seed production begins after a short period of growth and they produce large number of seeds. DAIRYING: DAIRYING Dairy is a place where milk and milk products are sold. The milk yielding animals such as cows, buffaloes and goats are known as milch cattle. Milch cattle must be given leguminous fodder which is rich in protein . POULTRY: POULTRY The practice of keeping and breeding useful animals which provide eggs or meat is known as poultry farming. Poultry birds are egg laying birds such as chicken , ducks , turkey,etc . FISHERIES: FISHERIES Pisciculture is rairing of fish . Aquaculture is the farming of aquatic organism such as fish mollusca ,prawns ,crabs. fishery You do not have the permission to view this presentation.
