Slide 2:

For this phase of my presentation, I would like to go over the major features of this Topic ‘SCM(Supply Chain Management)’

First, I want to start by introducing industrial engineeringWhat is industrial engineering?? :

First, I want to start by introducing industrial engineeringWhat is industrial engineering??

Industrial Engineering :

Industrial Engineering The area of engineering that deals with developing, improving, implementing, and evaluating integrated systems that involve finances, information, knowledge, individuals, energy, processes, materials, and equipment is called industrial engineering. Those working in this field must draw upon the precepts of engineering synthesis and analysis, while also having a firm grounding in the social sciences, math, and the physical sciences.

Use of Industrial Engineer :

Use of Industrial Engineer Industrial engineering might be used include designing a new loan system for a bank, streamlining operation and emergency rooms in a hospital, distributing products worldwide (referred to as Supply Chain Management), manufacturing cheaper and more reliable automobiles, and shortening lines (or queues) at a bank, hospital, or a theme park. Industrial engineers typically use computer simulation, especially discrete event simulation, for system analysis and evaluation.. System: A system is any organization or business process in which people, materials, information, equipment, processes or energy interact in an integrated fashion.

Finally, we'll go over our Main Topic ‘SCM’ stands for “Supply Chain Management”What is Supply Chain Management??

Definition(SCM) :

Definition(SCM) Supply chain management (SCM) is the management of a network of interconnected businesses involved in the ultimate provision of product and service packages required by end customers (Harland, 1996). Supply Chain Management spans all movement and storage of raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods from point-of-origin to point-of-consumption (supply chain).

Now!! :

Now!! Let's go on to the activities done in SCM

Activities In SCM :

Activities In SCM Supply chain management is a cross-functional approach to manage the movement of raw materials into an organization, certain aspects of the internal processing of materials into finished goods, and then the movement of finished goods out of the organization toward the end-consumer Whereas Purpose of SCM: The purpose of supply chain management is to improve trust and collaboration among supply chain partners, thus improving inventory visibility and improving inventory velocity. Now let's go on to the next slide of this presentation.

Supply Chain Management Components :

The concept of supply chain management is to overlook and manage the transition of raw goods into finished products, something that has become necessary over the years as more corporations have become increasingly flexible and dependent on outsourcing the production of their goods to other corporations, who are able to do the job at a more affordable rate. Supply Chain Management Components are broadly classified as below 1. The Basics 2. Supply Chain Management Integration 3. Supply Chain Management Software 4. Supply Chain Management RFID Solutions Our only concern is with ‘THE BASICS’ Supply Chain Management Components

The Basics :

The Basics Supply chain management makes sure that this process is done in an efficient manner, and that the quality of the finished product offered to the consumer is kept in line with that of company’s standards. As a result, more companies are involved in the production of a product, and less managerial control is exercised over logistics operations. Supply chain management ideas were created as a result of an increase in supply chain partners and a decrease in control. Thus, supply chain management works to improve the degree of trust and collaboration among the various companies involved in a supply chain. Supply chain management helps improve the degree of inventory visibility while simultaneously improving the velocity of inventory

What Includes In SCM??

Supply Chain Management :

Supply Chain Management

Supply Chain Management :

Supply Chain Management Supply chain management has crossed over from being a narrow management function to being a key differentiating function. Success now hinges on a different set of criteria, where each company is racing to get the right product to the right place at the right time – and at the right cost.

Supply Chain : Quality Control in Industrial Engineering :

Supply Chain : Quality Control in Industrial Engineering When it comes to the industrial engineering aspect of supply chain management, quality control and quality assurance are two duties that must be undertaken. The former refers to the process whereby measures are taken to make sure defective products and services are not produced, and that the product design meets the quality standards set out at the outset of the project. The latter, quality assurance, entails overlooking all aspects, including design, production, development, service, installation, as well as documentation. Quality control is the field that ensures it gets done right the first time around.

Supply Chain Management Skills :

Supply Chain Management Skills The phrase “managing a supply chain” meant making sure that your warehouse was adequately stocked and that nobody was goofing off in the back. Times have definitely changed. Today, to manage a supply chain means to be part of a complex and rapidly evolving global economy. Technology, escalating standards and changing models of business, as well as entirely new industries have transformed the supply chain landscape forever (nobody even knows whether to call it “supply chain management” or “logistics” – how’s that for complex?).

Supply Chain Management Skills :

Supply Chain Management Skills As a result, today’s supply chain manager owes his success or failure purely to the possession or lack of certain key skills. This article describes what these skills are, how you can acquire them, and how they can make you a more effective supply chain manager. Skills: 1st skill:Working with people 2nd skill:Supply Chain Analysis 3rd skill:Implementing Information Technology Systems 4th skill:Managing Projects

Conclusion :

Conclusion Before I finish, let me just go over these points. Those working in the field of supply chain management have to acquaint themselves with the following issues, which their SCM addresses. The first is the issue of distribution. Supply chain management must keep account of the suppliers’ names and addresses, their facilities, centers of distributions, as well as their warehouses and customers. The entire distribution network configuration must be understood. Finally, supply chain management deals with the management of inventory. Raw materials, finished goods, and work in process is all taken in to account in both quantitative and qualitative terms, and the location of the inventory is also taken in to account. That covers everything I wanted to say today.
