The ‘if’ function combined with ‘and’ checks whether all conditions specified are true. If that is the case it assigns a certain value to the calculation. If all or any one criteria is not true, it assigns a different value to the calculation. In our case we have calculated the House Rent Allowance or HRA based on 3 criteria of designation, location and salary. http://www.familycomputerclub.com

Now if we change the designation from ‘Manager to ‘GM’
the calculation is different i. e. the GM gets an

In the combination of ‘IF’ with ‘AND’ all conditions specified must be TRUE for the HRA to be 70% of salary.
