COMBINING ‘IF’ WITH ‘AND’ FOR CALCULATIONS IN EXCEL BY familycomputerclub.com http://www.familycomputerclub.com

Slide 2:

The ‘if’ function combined with ‘and’ checks whether all conditions specified are true. If that is the case it assigns a certain value to the calculation. If all or any one criteria is not true, it assigns a different value to the calculation. In our case we have calculated the House Rent Allowance or HRA based on 3 criteria of designation, location and salary. http://www.familycomputerclub.com

Slide 3:

Now if we change the designation from ‘Manager to ‘GM’ the calculation is different i. e. the GM gets an HRA of 50% of salary http://www.familycomputerclub.com

Slide 5:

In the combination of ‘IF’ with ‘AND’ all conditions specified must be TRUE for the HRA to be 70% of salary. If even one of the conditions of designation, location or salary is not true, the HRA is 50% of salary. http://www.familycomputerclub.com
