Students will be permitted to leave classroom for emergency purposes only. You must have a hall pass to leave the room. Slide 3: Bathroom Use The best time for bathroom use is during passing period. You should not leave class to use the bathroom unless it is truly necessary. You must get permission from the teacher without disrupting class. Only 1 person at a time will use the bathroom. Slide 4: I expect students to do the following things to make sure the classroom runs smoothly: Attend class, and arrive on time. Have materials ready when the bell rings. Listen when others are speaking. Follow directions the first time they are given. Get permission before speaking. Be polite and respectful toward each other. Stay on-task and focused. Slide 5: Academic Expectations Come to class on time. Be prepared to work immediately Follow teacher’s directions and complete assignments. Work hard. Do your best. Slide 6: I expect students to do the following things to make sure the classroom runs smoothly: Attend class, and arrive on time. Have materials ready when the bell rings. Bell work assignment time A. Students work on bell work B. Teacher takes attendance, returns papers and checks on individual students as needed. II. After the bell work assignment A. Teacher announces daily/weekly agenda. B. Teacher discusses returned papers/feedback. C. Bell work follow up. D. Daily lesson begins. Slide 13: Absence Procedure When you are absent, check with your teacher at the end of class for the missed assignments. You will have until the end of the week to complete your missed work. Slide 14: Listening to/Responding to Questions When we are having class discussions, raise your hand to be called on and listen to whoever is speaking. Teacher will give specific instructions when students are to call out answers without first raising their hands. Ask only questions that are relevant to the lesson. Be respectful of all comments and ideas. Slide 15: Getting the Class’ Attention The teacher will say, “I need your attention” and I will hold up my hand. When you see my hand you are to 1) stop what you are doing. 2) look at the teacher. 3) raise your hand until the class is silent. Slide 16: End of the Day Dismissal Procedure Hand in daily work. Put away materials. Make sure desk area is neat and trash is picked up. When the bell rings, be seated and look at the teacher. Teacher dismisses class. Push in chairs and proceed quickly and quietly out the door. Slide 17: Classroom Rules Follow teacher’s directions. Do not disrupt class. Be polite and courteous to others. Stay seated and on task. Keep hands and objects to yourself. No profanity. Follow teacher’s directions. Slide 18: Classroom Consequences Verbal warning and documentation. Parental Contact. Conference with Principal. Detention. Slide 19: Behavior Intervention Sit in safe seat Sent out of the classroom Calls to parents Office referral Work with others to develop a behavior plan Create action plan to determine a better behavior Slide 20: Students Leaving the Classroom Get permission from the teacher without disrupting class. You must have a hall pass to leave the room. Slide 21: Fire Drill Exit quietly to the north side door. Go to the parking lot. Wait until you are called back inside. Walk quickly and quietly back to the classroom. Get seated and quickly return to the classroom task. Slide 22: Teacher Away from the Room Step 1: Be seated and start working on the bell work assignment as usual. Step 2: Sit quietly, be patient, and use the time to work on other academic assignments. Slide 23: Classroom Dismissal The teacher and the teacher ALONE dismisses you, no one else. Do not start packing up until the teacher says it is ok. Stay in your seats until the teacher officially dismisses you with: “Have A Nice Day” You do not have the permission to view this presentation.
