CONTENTS

Holography Meaning:-:

Holography Meaning :- It is a technique that allows the light scattered from an object to be recorded and later reconstructed, so that it appears as recorded image i,e it appears three dimensional . It is also an advanced form of photography that allows an image to be recorded in three dimensions. It can also be used to optically store, retrieve, and process information.

Holographic data storage:- :

Holographic data storage:- Holographic data storage is a potential replacement technology in the area of high-capacity data storage currently dominated by magnetic and conventional optical data storage.

Viewing the hologram:

Viewing the hologram The picture on the right is a photograph, taken against a diffuse light background, of a hologram recorded on photographic emulsion. The area shown is about 8 mm by 8 mm. Photograph of a hologram in front of a diffuse light background - 8x8 mm

Viewing and authoring:- :

Viewing and authoring: - One of the significant in viewing of holography code data which is stored in an debit cards and credit cards which helps in accessing in check of our bank accounts provided by the banks and it is provided to an own authoring indudually to a single persons, That they can access their own acounts easily.

Holographic recording media:

Holographic recording media To record holograms in certain materials using a high power pulsed laser technique that uses only a couple of nanoseconds to record the holographic pattern.

Applications:

Applications Data storage :- Holography can be put to a variety of uses other than recording images. Holographic data storage is a technique that can store information at high density inside crystals or photopolymers. The ability to store large amounts of information in some kind of media is of great importance, as many electronic products incorporate storage devices. As current storage techniques such as Blu -ray Disc reach the limit of possible data density

Security:

Security Security holograms are very difficult to forge because they are replicated from a master hologram which requires expensive, specialized and technologically advanced equipment. They are used widely in many currencies such as the Brazilian real 20 note, British pound They are also used in credit and bank cards as well as passports , ID cards, books , DVDs , and sports equipment .

Dynamic holography:

Dynamic holography In static holography, recording, developing and reconstructing occur sequentially and a permanent hologram is produced. There also exist holographic materials which do not need the developing process and can record a hologram in a very short time. This allows one to use holography to perform some simple operations in an all-optical way. The optical processing performed by a dynamic hologram is also much less flexible than electronic processing.

Recording data:

Recording data Holographic data storage captures information using an optical interference pattern within a thick, photosensitive optical material. Light from a single laser beam is divided into two separate optical patterns of dark and light pixels. By adjusting the reference beam angle, wavelength, or media position, a multitude of holograms can be stored on a single volume.

Slide 12:

The theoretical limits for the storage density of this technique is approximately 1 terabyte = 1024 gigabytes per cubic centimeter From above figure we can deduce that a regular disk (with 4 cm radius of writing area) could hold up to a maximum of 3895.6Gb

Reading data:

Reading data Holographic data storage can provide companies a method to preserve and archive information. The write-once, read many ( WORM ) approach to data storage would ensure content security, preventing the information from being overwritten or modified. Manufacturers believe this technology can provide safe storage for content without degradation for more than 50 years

CONCLUSION:-:

CONCLUSION:- The technology itself has only been made feasible in the past few years by advances inthe materials science of photorefractive crystals and the control of light with spatial lightmodulators . However, the best of the holographic material to-date, non- linearphotorefractive crystals, are currently very expensive and have limited capabilities. There are several candidates for materials to date. Current work uses iron-doped lithiumniobate , strontium barium niobate , or barium titanate crystals.
