Course Purpose : 

This course is designed to introduce fundraising for higher education to new fundraising professionals, as well as those who must be involved with fundraising though not as their primary job function Deans Department Chairs Center Directors Course Purpose

Course Organization : 

The training is separated into four topic areas: The Prospect Cycle Identification Discovery Cultivation Ask Stewardship Keys to Effective Solicitation Development Research Prospect Management Course Organization

Course Design : 

The training course will follow a linear design Each new topic grows from the information that was learned before 4 hour course Taught in a distance education teaching lab in a small group Each student has their own computer to work through the topic presentations Group interaction will be key during the assignment stage Course Design

Introduction : 

During the introduction, the course participants will: Receive an explanation of the four topics Learn about the relevance of the training to their jobs Introduction

Learning Objectives : 

Learning objectives will be presented Clear Concise Students will know exactly what the planned take-aways are for the course Learning Objectives

Topic Presentation : 

Video Power Point Presentation Graphs Charts Text Topic Presentation

Assignment : 

In a training on this topic, it would not be advantageous to have a quiz. The group will participate in discussions and role play activities. Allow them to act out what they have learned in the course No concrete or right/wrong answers, so this will be the best way for them to ensure that they have learned the presented material.
