1. Upload Images and Clips : 

1. Upload Images and Clips Connect your camera to the computer via the sd card or a usb cable. Upload images (name theme properly!) Import the media into your collections. Audio files: .aif, .aifc, .aiff .asf, .au, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .snd, .wav, and .wma Picture files: .bmp, .dib, .emf, .gif, .jfif, .jpe, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .tif, .tiff, and .wmf Video files: .asf, .avi, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv All images must be saved in the same folder ! Choose Storyboard/Timeline view

2. Add Transitions : 

2. Add Transitions Short cut to Fade: Drag one video (or picture file) over another. MM places a fade transition into the transition channel. Click Here

3. Edit Clips : 

3. Edit Clips TOOLS: Zooming in and Out Cut tool in MM Frame by Frame editing: Fine movements to pinpoint an exact edit or cut. Trim Editing: Mouse over the video track at the edge of the clip. Click and drag. Splitting: or Cutting: When splitting in MM, you are separating the video file for a future move. You can insert a transition or effect here. You can split up parts of the video for editing or deleting (removing from your composition). Insert another video segment at the split. MM automatically removes space between splits and moves the 2 parts side by side.

4. Titles/Credits : 

4. Titles/Credits MM will help guide you through all the steps in making your movie. Mouse over the title overlay track. To add title, select titles and credits from tools menu. Where do you want to add a title? You can always move it on the timeline after you added the title to your movie. Change your font style, size and position. Choose a font style that is appropriate to your movie. Be adventurous. Don’t forget to click on Done, Add title to movie.

5. Saving Project : 

5. Saving Project Until a movie is exported...IT IS A PROJECT. Not a movie. The extension file would be mswmm as opposed to wmv. Every file (pictures, movies, songs, etc.) must be saved in the same folder for the computer to create a video, otherwise the project will show X. DOES NOT support mp4

6. Completing Your Movie :

Completing Your Movie Finish movie>save to my computer>create the proper name “8gp_lastname_nameofmovie” ex: 8gp_Tulloch_Bullying Select best quality for playback Notice WHERE file is saving Select play movie when I click finish Click finish and watch movie to ensure it is perfect for submission Movie should open in Windows Media Player

7. Saving Your Movie : 

7. Saving Your Movie Be sure your movie is a movie- not a project before you save it. It should have a file extension of wmv (not mswmm). Go to Save As> create a name for your movie such as 8gp_lastname_name of movie Open movie in saved location and be sure it plays perfectly

8. Playing Your Movie : 

8. Playing Your Movie Your movie will play in Windows Media Player.
