Definition of Singular and Plural
Singular: When we talk about any one thing or one person we call it Singular.
e.g.
One flower ------------------

Plural : When there are two or more than two things or persons then we call it Plural. E.g.

Forming Plurals :
There are some words which change from Singular to Plural only by
adding ‘S’
e.g. Boy --> Boys

Flower ---> Flowers Here we see that when a Vowel comes before a Consonant then only ‘S’ is added .

Nouns ending in ‘preceded by a Consonant Y’ form plurals ending in ‘ies’
e.gBaby -->Babies ,Lady-->Ladies.
Nouns ending in ‘F’or’’Fe’ may form plural in --> ‘ves’ e.g. Leaf--> Leaves , Wife-->Wives. Leaf-------------------------------------------->Leaves
