Stand up paddleboard Sizes vary to suit the paddler's weight and experience.  For beginner paddlers, best to choose a Glider or Touring style which are a wider, flatter board, offering more stability. For the more experienced and lighter paddlers, choose narrower boards such as a Classic or Diamond style for more manoeuvrability .

Paddle Stand up paddles are made of carbon, fibreglass or wood. Some paddles are adjustable, simply adjust or choose a paddle with the handle a foot above your head.  Paddles have a handle at one end and an angle or “elbow” in the shaft at the other end for maximum efficiency.

PFD (Personal Flotation Device) Whenever you're paddling deep water, it is recommended to wear a PFD, as paddleboards can be classed as vessels, so always wear a PFD.

Proper clothing What suit is recommended for cold weather? Wetsuits or dry suits are recommended for cold conditions with shorts and a T-shirt or bathing suit for warmer conditions - something that comfortable that moves with you and can get wet.
