Read the situation in the rubric carefully seeing how each part of it can be relevant to the answer.
Make sure you include both positive and negative points.
Cover a wide range of points regarding the test's effectiveness.
Make sure your answers are specifically about the particular test and learner
Make sure you always show how the points you make about the test's effectiveness apply to the particular learner.
Use a clear layout which shows which points are intended as positive and which as negative; table format can be used if wished.
Don't include an introduction or summary - they are not required and they waste time.
Paper 2 Task 2:
Paper 2 Task 2 Materials analysis (purpose of / assumptions behind activities)
30 marks / 25 mins
- Two marks are awarded for each purpose

- One mark is awarded for each assumption listed. An
additional two marks are awarded for each
explanation of an assumption

- Deal with the purposes in one section (Part A) and the
assumptions in another (Part B)
- Note carefully which activities should be discussed
- Write more than one purpose for each exercise
- Note that in part a you should discuss the purpose of the
exercises in relation to the purpose of the extract as a whole,
rather than just the purpose of the individual exercises
- Give both assumptions and the reason for them
- Make the assumptions in Part B general rather than referring to
a specific set of learners
- Make sure you indicate which exercises your assumptions refer
to.
Paper 2 Task 3:
Paper 2 Task 3 Analysing materials (complementarity of activities)
10 mins / 10 marks
One mark is awarded for each point made, up to a maximum of 10
Paper 2 Task 3:
